In a cryptic order signed today by Governor Deal, Marcia Norris, Spalding County Clerk of Superior Court and State Court is being investigative for apparent misconduct of some kind. According to the order, a formal request for the investigation came from officials within the Griffin Judicial Circuit.

About all we know from the latest WSB/Landmark Communications poll in the Atlanta mayoral race is that we still don’t really know anything consequential. Mary Norwood has 25% of the vote, Keisha Lance-Bottoms (who I have long thought would be a darkhorse for the runoff) narrowly edged Peter Aman for second place, 12.4% to 12.1%

State Representative Chuck Williams (R-Watkinsville) has been named by Governor Nathan Deal as the new Director of the Georgia Forestry Commission. This means that the greater Athens area with have two new Representatives in the Georgia House for the upcoming session, as Rep Regina Quick of Athens was just named to the Superior Court Bench.
