Morning Reads for the Dark of the Moon on the Sixth of June
Good morning! Keep the bugs off your glass and the bears off your– you know what, just leave your C.B. handle in the comments. My family had a C.B. radio in our 1984 Ford Econoline custom conversion van and I tell y’all what, we thought we were L-I-V-I-N (our handle was Swamp Hog.)
- Georgia’s school districts bear a heavy burden for the delayed, unfinished Plant Vogtle project.
- Urban areas in Georgia have a bigger agricultural economic impact than you might expect.
- Speaker Ralston appointed Representative Tommy Benton (R-Jefferson), who may be best known for remarking that the KKK “made a lot of people straighten up,” to a study committee on civics education.
- With two weeks left until the June 20 election, early voting in CD-6 surpassed 46,000 over the weekend.
- An annexation win for the City of South Fulton, AKA an annexation loss for the City of Atlanta.
- The City of Tybee Island has four new Beach Ambassadors. (The Rock is not one of them.)
- Trump may still have the support of his base, but that base is shrinking.
- The US and Mexican may be headed to a sugar showdown (which may be of interest to that major Atlanta employer who uses a lot of sugar.)
- Or maybe not – things are looking up for the Sugar Pact (sing that to the tune of “The Sugar Shack.”)
- Thor is pretty confident Wonder Woman (which is a great movie) would totally kick his behind.

Trump’s base is shrinking? Lol! The article is by Nate “I still thought The Peddler would win at 9pm on election night” Silver! Trump is delivering on every promise he made. Especially getting out of that money draining Global Warming boondoggle!!! The Deplorables literally love him! I cannot wait for his upcoming tweet asking his supporters to flood the 6th for Karen!!! MAGA!!
Lolololol! Then why is your side literally clinically mentally ill if he is so bad?! Little by little, with fake news and fake outrage and well, fake everything, you Dems are being pushed, rightfully so, into irrelevance. Enjoy the trip.
Trump only won that district by 1.5 points – and his approval rating is much lower now than it was earlier this year. He could ask his supporters to flood toe 6th, but I’m gonna guess that most of them aren’t registered to vote in that district.
my grandfather had a little red 1976 dodge colt with a cb radio, he was the red pony…that car was eventually what i drove my senior year of high school, the cb had long since quit working by then
I honestly don’t know why my parents felt the CB was necessary. The only time we used it (other than to try to talk to truckers while we drive between Houston and New Orleans – and we probably just annoyed them) was to talk to the families we traveled with on our annual trip to Callaway Gardens.
i think they were kind of a fad in the late 70’s early 80’s after smokey and the bandit came out. we had neighbors with a cb set up in their living room and they would just listen to the truckers talk to each other all the time instead of watching tv, very rarely did they ever get in on the conversation.
Another from the you can’t make this …. up. The GOP appointing Klan apologist State Senator Tommy Benton, sponsor of legislation that would have changed the name of M.L. King Jr. Blvd back to Gordon Road to honor a Confederate General, Governor and Senator and Klan leader, to a Committee charged with the responsibility of “furthering Georgia students civic literacy.”
Fair and balanced!
Jon Ossoff held a rally at a synagogue south of the 6th district last night. Is this really a good idea? https://chamblee54.wordpress.com/2017/06/06/jon-ossoff-pep-rally/
Since many congregants could possibly live in the 6th, why would it matter?
(oh, and lose the multicolor type…its distracting and harder to read)

Shocking.
Meanwhile, back at that Green Fund to which the world’s top polluters contributed nothing:

Why is that not surprising? Steve Forbes has said that the billion-dollar payment is another reason why President Trump was smart to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris agreement, before billions more of our tax dollars got dumped into that money pit.
