X-wing they are not, but closer they are.Ice cream that doesn’t melt.If you’re going to compare people to tacos, at least have the courtesy to allow them to choose the type of taco they want to be. Remember when Ronnie said: “We’re from the government and we’re here to help.”? Lock the door and throw away the key. Oh, how things have changed. I’m not saddened at all to learn that Monticello guides point out that Jefferson employed hundreds of slaves. Would it be better to think they were voluntary workers who lived in “Servant Quarters”? https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/right-wing-media-freak-out-over-monticello-teaching-visitors-thomas-jefferson-enslaved July 16, 2022 9:09 AM Log in to Reply xdog I applaud your efforts to track out of state donations to Georgia Dems and await your corresponding post on Rep donations. (Pro tip: you probably won’t find the info on Fox.) July 16, 2022 9:15 AM Log in to Reply xdog We should talk about abortion. I’m a firm believer that our leaders’ actions say more about their followers than about themselves. Everything about the 10 yo rape victim in Ohio has been an atrocity, beginning with the violence committed against a child but matched by the shameless denials of the rape and outright lies about what Ohio’s and Indiana’s laws require as elected officials and hired media guns vied to take the most cynical and extreme positions. But this story yesterday where an anti-abortion zealot said in effect that abortion isn’t abortion if there’s a chance it will make her supporters look less crazy might stand as the biggest example of moral idiocy so far. https://news.yahoo.com/anti-abortion-activist-claims-10-175854084.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall On second thought, I may be selling Catherine Glenn Foster, president of the Americans United for Life campaign group, short on the idiot scale. Further research shows that back in May in front of Congress (they sure need a wider circle of witnesses) claimed DC authorities are burning aborted fetuses for electricity. https://news.yahoo.com/gop-anti-abortion-witness-baselessly-134721676.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall July 16, 2022 9:39 AM Log in to Reply bethebalance Unfortunately, there are organizations that are contemporaneously relying on the bogeymen of Soros and Hollywood personalities. I don’t know if the below story was linked here already or not, but I decided to post a link that did not include the antisemitic graphics of the flyers. But there were at least a couple sets of flyers distributed, focused variously on campaign donors, nonprofits, movies and media, especially Disney, etc. So Soros and Spielberg were headliners on those flyers too. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/antisemitic-flyers-left-at-homes-in-south-florida/ar-AAZ0vLZ Not to say the campaign finance article was unfair- all partisans will highlight the weakness of the others’ campaigns, and simultaneously bury their own issues, but the Fox article also mentions at least another Jewish donor, I believe- and they should be careful not to be in sync with the white supremacists’ steps. July 18, 2022 1:44 PM Log in to Reply bethebalance It is sad when ppl hypocritically choose which hypocrisies are worth attention. That piece (PJ media): OK, I got your grievance. Too much on the bad history for you to enjoy your idyllic versions of storylands without being triggered– even tho that aspect of history has been heretofore egregiously neglected, and maybe the intensity is just a piece of history catching up to the present…) either way, the piece soon devolves into the accusation that all liberals love tyrants? so weird, bc it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever (although who needs to make sense in order to provoke and then manipulate ppl’s hatred?) but the argument is like “the liberals hate slavery bc they love tyrants”. That’s obv the ‘ole flip-flop script technique, with the usual dashes of denial and projection. But so much unncssry hate it’s sickening. July 18, 2022 3:48 PM Log in to Reply xdog I ‘m posting this list of Georgians who signed bogus documents claiming that Donald Trump won the 2020 election because I think it’s important to know their names and something about them, and because I can’t find a current listing.
