Special Election Set For GA Senate District 13; Qualifying Begins Today

If you want to represent portions of Southwest Georgia in the Georgia Senate, you need to get your qualifying papers filed by January 6th. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has set the special election to fill the Senate seat of the late Greg Kirk for February 4th. A potential runoff is scheduled for March 3rd.

The district covers all or portions of Crisp, Dodge, Dooly, Lee, Sumter, Tift, Worth, Turner, and Wilcox counties.

Qualifying begins today and will continue tomorrow and closes Monday at 1pm. (note an earlier version of this story said Tuesday, Monday is the correct closing date.)
