SD-30 Candidate Spotlight: Triana Arnold James

Triana Arnold James, former Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor in Georgia and former Mrs. Georgia, is seeking the Democratic nomination for Senate District 30.

Her website states that she grew up in the cities of Smyrna and Marietta, both in Cobb County. She attended Morris Brown College and then joined the United States Army, where she served on active duty and in the Reserves.

The following is from a press release from the campaign. We received it today, but it is dated March 30, 2019. The HB 481 mentioned in the released was signed by Gov. Brian Kemp in May.

Triana Arnold James announces her new Campaign for Senate District 30, a mission which aims to bridge the gap between the people and the government.

“Because of my experience and background, I have people skills that can be used to bring people together toward common goals and unity. I am pleased and honored to announce my candidacy for State Senate of District 30.”

“During my time as an advocate, community leader and business owner, I gained an understanding of the complexities of the government including its capabilities and limitations.”

After this 2019 Legislative Session, I can no longer sit back and watch my home State move backwards to the Jim Crow Era. We need to move forward and progress. Georgia is the number one State to do business; we can be the number one State for women.

I am ready to serve and lead on Day One including repealing and replacing HB481 aka The Heartless Bill in the event it is signed by the current Administration.

I look forward to a positive campaign, meeting citizens, and tackling challenges. Georgia is the number one state for business and we can be the number one State for Women.
