Michael Welsh Announces For GAGOP Secretary

As current Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party Kirk Shook vacates his post to take a position in Governor Brian Kemp’s administration as Director of the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission, an announcement comes from former 12th District Chairman Mike Welsh on his intent to become the next secretary of the GAGOP.

From his Facebook post announcing his candidacy:

Dear Georgia Republicans,

All of my adult life I have been involved in the outreach, growth, and development of our Republican Party. I have decided to run for the office of Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party to focus on the following three main areas:

Cultivate an environment that will make our Republicans candidates successful in a competitive 2020 Election Cycle.

Recruit new members to our party by meeting voters where they are.

Modernize our technology so that we can communicate our party values with voters in dynamic ways.

It is my hope that our delegates will allow me to serve and I look forward to taking my message across the state in the coming months.
