Rep. Ferguson to Serve on House Ways and Means

Rep. Drew Ferguson (R, GA-3) was selected to serve on the Committee on Ways and Means by the House Republican Steering Committee today. Ways and Means is the tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives and has jurisdiction over all taxation, trade, tariffs and other revenue-raising measures. The full House will confirm the appointment in the near future.

Due to the appointment, Ferguson will be stepping down from his current committee appointments on the House Committee on the Budget, the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Committee on Education and the Workforce.

Ferguson:

“I am honored to be selected to serve on the House Committee on Ways and Means. In the 115th Congress, we made huge strides to make America the most competitive place in the world to do business again with the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and I’m excited to join the Committee on Ways and Means as we keep working to build off of this success.

“I also look forward to working with Ranking Member Brady and my colleagues on the committee to promote free and open markets for American businesses and advance patient-centered reforms to rebuild our broken healthcare system. This work includes removing barriers in our current welfare system that prevent Americans from moving into the middle class and trap people in the cycle of generational poverty.

Georgia is a national hub for so many American job creators, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a voice for Georgians on these critical issues.”
