What is the big difference, in your estimation? I mean I don’t think he brags on camera about sexual assault, but he seems fine with embracing highly divisive fact-light talking points to get votes, and he has fully embraced Trump and Trump’s endorsement.
One difference is that at least Trump is good at what he does. 🙂
It’s more about the circus that the surrounded Trump, including the talk of sexual assault, tweets, etc. The average person in Cobb County has seen Trump’s ridiculous speeches and tweets as opposed to ever seeing a tweet that Kemp has sent, or even one of his speeches. That is the difference, and one that will affect an R voter going to Kemp vs Abrams, as opposed an R voter going to Clinton or a 3rd party instead.
I don’t know enough about why people vote the way they do. I do know, though, that if I get a bad piece of fish at a restaurant I often don’t go back to try the lasagna. The question is just whether Trump did enough damage to the Republican brand for it to hurt someone whose main message is “vote for me because I’m a Republican”.
When Trump visited the storm damage, Kemp was not there, right? I assume that was purposeful. In my best generosity, I could say it was because no one wanted to inject obvious politics into the suffering. Was it anything else or any attempt for Kemp to distance himself?
I believe the conventional wisdom is that higher turnout helps Democrats though I don’t have time right now to hunt up the facts.

It’s not up to anybody but election authorities to determine who is eligible to vote. I know that when I was a deputy registrar here we were specifically told NOT to qualify anyone’s application. It’s illegal.
If you’re not here legally, don’t send the application in. But even if you do you won’t be registered if the SoS is doing their job.

There are a lot of things that we can do that do not depend on the middle east at all but relying on anything having to do with oil is going to enrich the middle east. You really should read up on energy markets and how they work. When something goes on the market you cannot make it stay in the US unless you nationalize the oil companies here.
Andrew, how many new nuclear plants have been built in the US the last 40 years? That looks like a lot of support for an energy source with zero c02 emissions. What choices do we have today without fossil fuels? What % of our energy needs are renewables?

I haven’t read any stories about this caravan, I’ve only seen the headlines. But I am going to assume that at least most of them are refugees, probably a lot of women and children escaping war, drug cartels, gangs, paramilitary groups, rape, and poverty. So let’s hope ‘defending the country’ against these people doesn’t involve shooting or bombing children and their mothers.

I’ll take that one, DTM. Obama created a new category of US resident, DACA, via his DHS, which he announced in the Rose Garden, June 2012. He usurped Congressional authority as set forth in the Constitutional separation of powers. Just because he eloquently stated why he wanted to do it did not make this a legal action.

To start with, 2010-2012 term the House was majority Republican, but the Senate was Democrat, who could have passed a bill and sent it to the House and put some pressure on for passage. But they didn’t.
Just because a siting POTUS cannot get the Legislative Branch to pass a law they want is not an excuse to just break the Constitution. ‘Something to do with honoring that oath of office thing swearing “to uphold the Constitution.”
I oppose any elected official deliberately breaking the Constitution, no matter what their excuse may be.
