If you read the article, they are very careful to point out that they don’t have the transcript of what the speechwriter said, so don’t make unfounded accusations (Note: that is what actual professional journalism does). But it points out clearly: Folks in Trump-land are totes cool with working alongside of folks who are totes cool with white supremacists.
So, there is no “ginning up”. There is an overwhelming flow of circumstantial evidence that indicates Trumpies are totes cool with racists amongst themselves.

There is no Georgia exchange. Under the ACA, one has to apply via federally run exchange. Four companies offer insurance: BC/BS of GA, Ambetter, Alliant and Kaiser Permanente.

How do you feel about Confederate statutes erected in the Jim Crow era or the Confederate flag being waved?
Rather than hundred plus year old, lichen covered and decaying statues or a few people exorcising their right of free speech waving a banner, I like to see how people’s lives are improving, increased employment for all, especially for the black and Hispanic communities. People keeping more of the money they’ve worked for and earned. Tangible, measurable improvements. Not chasing ghosts.
We can have all of the above. Not mutually exclusive. People can work on more than one issue at a time. This is you engaging in the same”whataboutism” that you decry when refuted.
Also, they’re not decaying. They stand starkly in the center of communities that don’t want them there. And perpetuate a history that never deserved glorification.

The “stars and bars” have become socially unacceptable. That’s different than someone not having the right to display it. You can fly it all you want, but there may be social consequences. You seem not to get that. In turn, if society at large deems burning a US flag unacceptable, then there will be social consequences for that act. Do you see the difference? There are a lot of things to be proud about in the South and none of it has to do with a confederate flag or General Robert E. Lee or Silent Sam.
You seem to miss the point with these monuments and the issue with Confederate flags being waved in town squares. By placing them on government property with government permission the government is condoning what they represent.
By placing these monuments and flags on public property the government is saying: “We agree with what these items stand for.”
What do they stand for? They stand for traitors and white-supremacy. This is the government saying they support those ideals.
If a private party wants to do that on their private property. Have at it. I can think they are an idiot until I am blue in the face, but that is not the government condoning the ideals.

1) Is money laundering a “process crime”?
2) Setting motive aside, and with the competence you affirm, if Mueller found evidence that Trump campaign officials knowingly abetted a foreign-led disinformation campaign, would you agree with the factual finding?

I just wonder why you invest so much energy in either fighting the investigation or in being so sure it will turn out one way.
But if it doesn’t turn out the way you would want or expect, I’m not sure if you’ll more or less roll with it, or support the man you elevate despite evidence of guilt. And how far would that support go? If he claimed the report unfairly interfered with his re-election campaign, and then litigated the election, or administratively attacked the election process somehow, would you support that?
That’s what I’m most curious about.
Balance. This entire investigation has been initiated to infer that Trump’s win is somehow attributed to his cheating in some way. Tainted. It can’t be that he outworked Hillary. Nope. He cheated.
He took his message to the folks. They liked it. And voted for him. The only crimes committed here were by Dems. Collusion was done by Dems and the FBI with Steele. That’s what will eventually come out. With all of the leaks that permeate Washington, if there were any hard facts that Trump colluded or obstructed, they would have leaked.
Well, I believe that there should be accountability for any broken laws or misconduct, regardless of political party. And if the investigation brings to light anything untoward, from anybody, then it was useful.
And we certainly needed to know abt Russian interference, and indict all their bad actors, regardless of where they reside.
But my curiosity is not why you’re so confident your guy is 100% innocent. It’s about whether you would believe any evidence to the contrary, if the investigative methods were solid.
I guess you do not realize that the indictments against the Russians was to let people like you know that there actually was interference in the election. Whether or not they are ever tried in a court of law we all now know that Guccifer was a Russian Intelligence Agent, Wikileaks is a Russian operative and there was an entire army of Russian bots paid to push Trump and Sanders on social media and that the Russians infiltrated tea party operatives and that once Trump asked Putin to hack Hillary’s email he ordered is intelligence to try and try they did unsucessfully though.
So far the only people who have gone to jail are Trumpers.

Just as an aside, in the name of humor–
Sacha Baron Cohen and his show- the one that outed Jason Spencer, etc.- has many more moments of accountability and the absurdity of modern politics. Among the absurdities are a couple of other characters Cohen plays that embody some of the alleged stereotypes of the political left and right. The character bringing absurdity to the left is my favorite, and laughing at the absurdity may even help some on this blog separate fact from fiction. The character rides around with a pink “Women’s March” hat on his bike helmet, and makes statements like- the world’s most dangerous chemical weapon is testosterone- and- that he believes in equality for all 24 genders.
The right-wing character is naturally full of conspiracy theories and photoshopped “evidence”.

I admit I’m not nearly as good as Borat, but most of the things I comment on I try to show the absurdity of some of these positions that I see written about.… Toppling statues is absurd. Tearing down the Washington Monument is absurd. Screwing around with Stone Mountain is absurd. Transgender bathrooms are absurd. It does nothing. Taking a knee at a ball game might not be absurd but it is entirely the wrong place to do it. Those examples are done not to heal anything but to throw things in the face of people and are basically a giant FU.

I appreciate the art of absurdity. The humor is in the idea that there’s no way whatever it is could ever be true.
With the statutes, however, there’s a certain reality which is hard to bring absurdity to.
They are in fact, concrete realities.
And while I can see that taking down statutes accomplishes nothing in Your eyes, there is a reality that it accomplishes something for others, as a stepping stone to accomplishing racial reconciliation.
And it also lacks absurdity because it is no more absurd to take down a statue than it is to put one up. Putting up the statues required extensive efforts and costs that could have also been otherwise more efficiently and morally used. But many people persisted and organized to put them up, despite any obvious utility of the raw concrete, except maybe the concrete could have been used more effectively to fill potholes. So there could be absurdity in the statues existing in the first place, and there is thus no absurdity in the equal and opposite reaction of taking them down.
It would be more meaningfull (and in Context) on Madison Square in front of his Head Quarters in Savannah.

Well, considering Trump was on tape doing one deal with Cohen I don’t think Trump is going to be able to pretend he did not know Cohen.
Well, he’s got his followers convinced that Manafort was his campaign manager for like 2 days instead of 5 months.
Well, today has been a bad day for witches since the “witch hunt” today put Paul Manafort in jail for years and Michael Cohen in jail for 3 to 4 years. Kids, don’t forget Michael Cohen pled guilty to campaign finance fraud and he was the deputy finance director for the RNC.
And he did it at the direction of a candidate according to his plea.

And his campaign manager has yet another trial coming up next month in DC. That one includes witness tampering.
I bet that he throws out that he’ll pardon Manafort. Saying he did nothing wrong, he’s a good guy, and that he was treated unfairly. It’s the only way to support his self-interested narrative.
But what to do about Cohen?
Oh, if he does say anything about it, he’ll call Cohen a liar and other names.
I keep hearing this pardon bantered around yet I don’t see how it benefits even Trump other than the false narrative Trump has been promoting.
Yeah, he may actually just say he’s going to pardon Manafort— so that he can maintain the narrative, and to prevent Manafort from becoming a cooperating witness. But he will be deceiving Manafort because he will follow his lawyers’ advice and not actually pardon him, if it makes Manafort more available for questioning anyways. So, he’ll say one thing and do another, and string out Manafort on a false promise of a pardon.
I wonder if Manafort has even been offered anything since Rick Gates flipped. I would think Gates who knows the same things that Manafort knows and probably even more since he was on the Trump campaign the entire time.
I also sense that the “witch hunt” charge begins to fall flat amongst a chunk of supporters. Maybe 5%, maybe up to 10% will begin to start to disbelieve that it’s all actually only a witch hunt. I assume some folks are going to do some polling beginning tomorrow, and I’m curious to see the extent of any hit to the approval rating.
