Every time I hear about the Space Force, I flash back to that movie “Star Troopers” in which the earth is invaded by giant bugs.
It sounds like Pence, et al are afraid to tell the Donald it is a dumb idea and violates numerous treaties.
Neither Pence nor Trump ever served in our military so they are like little boys playing with toy soldiers.

Though he was never called to the stand, detailed references to Sessions and key members of his staff thread their way through the record of the four-week trial, which concluded on July 20 when David Roberson, vice president of Drummond Coal,… Read more »

A lot of swamp. Shine the light. Lets fumigate the stinking liars at the FBI upper leadership much less Justice Department and IRS.

When those guys go after you the average person is screwed. Glad we have some folks strong enough to shine the light on what the hell they have been doing too.

Lock em up, throw em out. Let’s get some honest folks there and elsewhere.

Mueller was appointed US Attorney by Regan, Head of DOJ’s Criminal Division by George H.W. Bush, Acting Deputy Attorney General by George W. Bush, and FBI Director by George W. Bush.

The toady weirdo made the case for a space force as a separate military branch with an all new additional bureaucracy headed by creating a new four star general who’ll need a staff, and more staff to coordinate with and fight over territory with the staff of other branches.
.
The GOP, intrinsically hostile and opposed to any existing and especially new government bureaucracy and spending, except when it isn’t.

This is the US government in an indirect way saying that aliens are real and are on the way, and we must get ready. lol

Just make it part of the Air Force…we already have satellite missiles. Big whoop. I agree we don’t need another bureaucracy.

Dave Bearse

I hope its still on. I want to see the limp wristed liberal weasels wearing their pink hats protesting the military too! We hate Trump, we hate the military. We hate capitalism. We hates anyone we disagree with.

Uh don’t ask us what we like. We are too filled with hate…

bethebalance

Essentially, this is exactly the case.
Space tech and research with military applications already takes place at Wright-Patterson Air Force base.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Force_Research_Laboratory
And they already coordinate w NASA, etc.
But there’s no way you would want to tell the Pres. that because Wright-Patt is full of conspiracy theories about aliens and alien tech (ever since the alien ship that crashed in Roswell, NM was taken there- allegedly).
So, you want to give Trump access to info on another huge conspiracy theory? Or worse- access to info that is critically classified? So he can go blab about it on Twitter or tell the Russians?

bethebalance

There’s also offices for satellites and missiles involving space tech as you would expect:

Georgia Power said it’ll absorb the $1.1 billion Vogtle increase. It’s been reported it will be selling bonds to raise some of that cash. Those bonds will have higher interest since Moody’s no longer rates Georgia Power a blue chip investment. Anybody know how the interest on those bonds would figure into rate-making? . The expense is going to reduce Georgia Power’s tax payments even if interest on the bonds isn’t ultimately paid by ratepayers. Ratepayers will also be paying more to cover higher interest on other Georgia Power borrowing, but hey, that shouldn’t factor into the cost of the… Read more »

Ultimately, it’s the PSC that will determine the rates that GA Power can charge, based upon GA Power’s representations of its finances, statutory limits on profits, etc. So if GA Power makes less money because of the higher interest payments, they could certainly ask the PSC (again) to raise rates to cover the expense. The PSC has been able to focus on the Vogtle costs, though, and may be reluctant to let GA Power pass anything on soecifically for that. But if the interest costs on the bonds can be hidden (I mean subsumed) within the general budget….they may feel… Read more »

Instead of the usual conspiracy stuff.
Until you get to the point that you 100% blame liberals for decades of regulatory and corporate decisions. You just couldn’t stay on task.
So- the only factor you left out was obviously safety. Which is why so many- citizens, regulators, companies- have opted against nuclear over the decades.
I personally believe that there will be tech improvements that will make nuclear safer, with safer waste production and management as well. At some point. At least keep up the investments in

It may be a felony, but it isn’t “wiretapping.” Basically Omarosa took an unsecured recording device (with a [email protected]*%# camera attached to it!) into one of the most sensitive security environments in the entire world. Makes me wonder how many other morons in the administration did the same thing.

Andrew C. Pope

I also know that I’d be petrified of forgetting to put it in the phone box because of the chances someone could pat me down inside the SCIF. Clearly, there’s a really lax approach to information security at the WH.

Trump blabs to a ton of people on an unsecure phone. So I’m sure no one was concerned about Omarosa bringing an unsecured phone.

Dude it was not unsecured but then you don’t know facts. Hillary’s server did not get hacked but Trump’s staff was copying information and heaven only knows what they did with. It was so bad Obama wouldn’t let them handle it anymore and made them come to the white house to view the information. I mean these are people who are taping each other in the situation room. So this is not an usual situation for the dumpster fire in the Kremlin Annex. It seems to be just the way they do business.

No, she hasn’t and Ellison isn’t running for re-election to Congress because he’s running for Minnesota AG. . Ellison needs to suspend his campaign and step away from his position with the DNC while this is investigated. . For what it’s worth, MPR has reviewed hundreds of text messages and Twitter DMs between the alleged victim and Ellison and found nothing indicating physical abuse or allegations of physical abuse. Obviously, that doesn’t mean it didn’t occur, which is why Ellison should welcome an investigation and the alleged victim’s son should come forward with the tape he claims to have. .… Read more »

Still, I don’t think folks should be going to the polls with this question hanging out there. Bloomberg gave Kemp a pass more or less in a story on ballot security, not mentioning the incompetence of Kemp’s office having sent files of all voter registration information to 10 or so that asked, or that the state voter registration could for months be accessed simply by adding an “s” to a very public http: address, changing it to https.

Is having to show an ID to vote considered voter suppression to the liberals on this blog?

Dave Bearse

Photo ID? Not for me. But the intent of the Georgia legislation as filed was clearly partisan by making is easier for Republicans and harder for Democrats to vote. Despite it being brought to attention as illegal, the legislation included a poll tax. Dozens of Georgia counties did not even one location where a state issued photo ID could be obtained, an obvious barrier to obtaining one.
.
The legislation was changed after it was apparent the Justice Department would embarrass the state by halting implementation and requiring changes. Mighty white of the state.

But if you have a license but left it at home you’ll probably have to take it down and show it to a judge at some point. I posted the link to the requirements for a driver’s license but apparently you did not read it. It goes straight to the Georgia Department of Driver Services. If you already have the “secure” license, you can renew easily, even online. But the first time you get a license, like moving here from out of state, or any other circumstance where you don’t already have the ‘secure’ license, you have to go through all those hoops.

I have had a driver’s license here in GA since 1989. When I went to renew it in 2012 I had to have all the paperwork. What the DDS worker told me is that you are only allowed to renew your driver’s license one time and then the next time you renew it, you have to bring all the paperwork in again.
