Habersham County election supervisor says a typographical error caused the wrong result to be sent to the SOS office. It has been corrected per Laurel Ellison.

Her second “mistake”.

Make no “mistake” about it, voter disenfranchisement is un-American.

“In several instances, voters showed up at their polling places as listed on the secretary of state’s website, only to be told they were supposed to vote elsewhere” I worked at the Brookhaven precinct in 2016 and personally witnessed at least three instances of people coming in from Lithonia only to discover that they had been sent to the wrong precinct by the website. And, there’s always the nagging doubt as to whether this was the result of incompetence or error at the website level or a deliberate attempt to commit voter fraud. In either case, the did not vote… Read more »

Interesting article. The original source requires one to sign up.
“Where Did the Ex-Confederate Leaders Go After the Confederacy Was Defeated by the Union?”
“Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy, spent two years shackled to a wall in a Virginia prison. He had many unlikely sympathetic supporters including the Pope, who advocated for mercy, and even some former enemies and abolitionists. After he was released he went to Canada and Cuba and England and eventually managed a successful insurance company, hiring only former Confederate officers. He remained an unrepentant racist and Confederate supporter until the end of his life…”

I want to read that. I got a Time Life magazine a day or two ago in the checkout line at Publix featuring the most famous Civil War Generals of the Civil War. Surprising place to see that there. Have not read it yet.

So that’s why the State of Georgia honored a traitor on the stone largest relief in the world, not to mention dozens of statutes elsewhere across the south.

Are you aware that district is R +14 and never should have been that close? We actually don’t know the results yet until all the votes are counted.

downthemiddle

528 huh? That is an odd number for sure even though its an even number…

I guess enough of those ignorant, Bible thumping, gun-toting, inbreeds got in their pick up trucks with the Trump stickers and went to the polls after all.

I wonder how much “walkin ’round money” Jesse Jackson paid those folks to get out and vote? I hear Trump hired Jesse to get the vote out. Nobody does it better… Jesse is an entrepreneur you know…

Yes boys, the GOP candidate in one of the most gerrymandered GOP leaning districts in the country, which has only been won by a democrat once since 1934, which Trump took in 2016 by +11.8 points, is currently leading the vote count by +.09 points. In a GOP designed, GOP leaning voting district….

AND they get to do this again in 91 days.

Noway2016
Noway2016

Yes they do. And the result will likely be the same. Again, it’s all about turnout. Even your side has to admit that Trump’s rallies are raucous affairs that fire up his voters.

You’re missing the point.

Noway2016
Noway2016

The point is that 8 of 9 TGM-endorsed candidates in special elections have won.

Andrew C. Pope
Andrew C. Pope

No, the point is the Republican candidate, in heavily Republican district, needed a Trump rally, a VP visit, and millions in ad buys to eke out a 0.9% advantage. . If Georgia scrimmaged the Georgia School for the Deaf and Blind and escaped with a win in quadruple overtime, you wouldn’t be sticking your chest out, you’d be concerned and highly doubtful of Georgia’s ability to beat a team with all 5 senses. . There are 68 Republican-held districts that are less Republican than OH-12. If the GOP needs to pull out all the stops to win in a place… Read more »

With respect…TGM is ready, willing and able to do all of the 68 rallies you list. Every.Single.One! I hope all of those districts are won by the Repub by 528 votes! Gonna KAGA!

Andrew C. Pope
Andrew C. Pope

But he did a rally in OH-12 and all it got him was a 0.9% margin. Trump showing up for a rally is not a guarantor of success in less Republican districts. Ask Rick Saccone.

Noway2016
Noway2016

Can you b’leve I’m gonna say this? You’re absolutely correct! That’s why AFOne is gonna be gassed up to the max between now and November!

Benevolus

The point is, many GOP candidates have a dilemma:
Embrace Trump and lose 10-40% of the votes they got before,
or
Distance themselves from Trump and lose 10-40% of the votes they got before.

Caroline
Caroline

That R +14 district took 5.2 million out of the GOP warchest. The DNC only spent 1 million to get it to basically a tie. The more money the RNC has to dump in these gerrymandered Republican districts the better.

Trump mattered in Ohio 12. So did Pence. So did Kasich, who’s considerably more popular in the state. So did the extra spending the gop mustered. But if you consider that the district was +23 Romney in 2012, +11 Trump in 2016 and has had one donk winner in almost 80 years you can see why the pros on both sides look at the race as a indicator of Nov results.

Here’s a cautionary tale from Johnson County Kansas that new voting machines aren’t a guarantee of seamless tallies. “The county spent more than $10 million to buy the new machines, which provide a paper audit trail in case of any disputed outcome. The county’s old machines were outdated and needed to be replaced, and we have no quarrel with that decision. But some of the new machines simply didn’t work Tuesday, leading some voters to give up and go to work. Poll workers were seemed unsure of a backup plan. Some voters think ballots may have been miscast.” That’s from… Read more »

Yep, I confess. I have to work, can’t keep up with this stuff every day. But do you REALLY equate buffoon has-been Duke with current-day anarchist and jihadist Sarsour, who calls all Muslims in America to wage war on non-Mislims??

‘Guess the woman from Michigan will pick up where Ellison leaves off when he departs for his state-level race this fall. I just hope she isn’t a jihadist colleague of Sarsour’s.

Ellynn

I don’t like Sarsour views, no truly rational person should.

HOWEVER; whenever any of us makes a logical and rational point that Noway and a few others don’t have a good answer too, he goes on a whole whataboutism to avoid replying. If it works for him, why can’t I do it? Maybe a Richard Spencer, or Rep King of Iowa reference would have been more timely.

I don’t know anything about her so I looked her up and on wikipedia it sounds like she didn’t actually “call all Muslims in America to wage war on non-Mislims?”. It says: . “At an address to a May 2017 Islamic Society of North America convention, Sarsour recounted a story from Islamic scripture in which a person asks “What is the best form of jihad or struggle?” The answer, according to her, was “a word of truth in front of a tyrant ruler or leader”.Speaking of the need for Muslim Americans to defend themselves against anti-Muslim policies from the Trump… Read more »

I’m no fan of Sarsour either, but I think there’s a difference between her and a guy like Steve King – who is an elected member of Congress, mind you – that openly spouts white supremacy and unapologetically retweets Neo-Nazi propaganda.

I’d avoid whataboutism if my party’s standard bearer publicly endorsed a child molester and accepted the endorsement of the former grand wizard of the Klan.

1) Define “communism” and explain what policies in the Democratic platform constitute communism.

3) I believe President Trump called Duke and his compadres “fine people” even after one of them drove a car into a crowd and killed a girl. So, don’t give me some b.s. about how Duke wasn’t “embraced” by the White House.

In an effort to treat others like I’d want to be treated, I went ahead and read the article Sally posted. . First, the article, without any evidence, alleges that the FBI and NSA committed “rampant violations of procedures indented to safeguard American’s [sic] personal data and communications collected under Section 702 of FISA.” . Second, the article incorrectly asserted that the NSA had an 85% noncompliance rate, based on a “top secret FISC report.” This is incorrect. The non-compliance rate is approximately 0.5%, not 85%. This is according to the 2017 AG and DNI semi-annual assessment. . Third, the… Read more »

Breaking news on new documents released that confirm more lawlessness in the Obummer administration. Nails down Associate Deputy A/G Ohr as the go-between for DOJ participants and FBI’s Strzok, et.al. in the conspiracy to take down a president and reverse an election. The FBI made eleven payments to Fusion GPS for the falsehood dirty dossier created by Christopher Steele, British spy. Millions were also paid by the DNC and the Clinton campaign.
