I get a strong sense that Ann Coulter is trolling the right sometimes in very clever ways (and making good money doing it)

Listening liberals talk tough to Russia is comical. That would be the Communist Party USA, because that’s how political parties work. How do democrats plan to win elections when they call their opposition racists, deplorables, gun -toting bible- thumping rubes, stupid, gay haters, misogynists and now TRAITORS. Screaming impeachment before he was even inaugurated and that includes the person leading the Russia probe. The liberal leadership openly states the answer to America’s problems are more and more socialism. Is this intolerance and arrogance inspiring to anyone? I have never heard so much twisted bilge in my life! I am sure there are KKK flyers in your neighborhood. I throw this out to anyone. I bet every one of us know 1000 or more people. How many of those folks do you consider racists?

Benevolus

We are seeing it in the news every day middle. Black guy gets the cops called on him in a coffee shop. Hispanic family gets screamed at for no reason. Those are racist actions. Whether those people are “racist’ or not, their actions certainly are. Racism exists.

Andrew C. Pope
Andrew C. Pope

My point is that the folks throwing those flyers in my front yard aren’t wearing Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden buttons. . I think there are a lot of folks who are at least a little bit racist. My grandmother used to lock her car doors and roll the windows up when we drove through downtown Atlanta or by Turner Field/Fulton Co. Stadium. She didn’t do the same in Buckhead. I guess my point is… people can be racist and have no clue that what they’re doing is racist. That’s how baked-in to our society racism is. We need to have conversations about the ways in which racism manifests itself if we ever want to resolve these issues and move society forward. . I will readily acknowledge that just screaming “that’s racist!” isn’t the best approach and should really only be reserved for out-and-out and unrepentant racists like Steve King or Richard Spencer or Ben Shapiro. In March 2012 while President Obama was taking part in a global nuclear security summit in South Korea, he was caught on tape asking for then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for “space.” “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility,” Obama implored. Medvedev said “I will tell Vladimir.” Could he have meant arranging the sale of 25% of America’s uranium to Russia? The big story today is the coverup. Trump knew the Russians ordered a cyberattack right after the election. Only if you believe in the world of alternative facts which you apparently do. Fact is Trump’s presidency is essentially over. He ceded power to Putin this past week. Obviously conservatives like you are perfectly fine with Putin running America. Even his own NSI Dan Coates was laughing at him this week.

He is in the Oval Office until he’s not. Until then, there’s still plenty of things he can do, especially damage that can be done. I didn’t read the article, but it’s foolish to underestimate.

Well, this week even the Republicans are running from him. Yes, I never said he was going to be out of office. I just said he’s shown his true colors and if Republicans want to side with him and hence be identified as Putin stooges well, that is their right. Really the article makes the point.

Dude, no one has been put on the supreme court yet. We still have Manafort’s trial starting next week. The senate for the first time yesterday was united against Trump turning McFaul over to Putin. Trump stood there and showed the world that he is under the complete sway of Putin this week. Screaming things over and over don’t make them true.

It’s even more clear than that. Awwwww Nawww! Damn that common sense… Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let’s say I break into your house. Let’s say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, ‘No! I like it here. It’s better than my house. I’ve made all the beds and washed the dishes and… Read more »

The question is- how to respond to something like that scenario. In other words, not every crime justifies the death penalty. If you came home and found that situation you might call the police or some agency, who would presumably try to investigate that persons background and situation, and find a humane way to deal with them based on that information. . The world is full of gray areas. It seems a lot of people want to see things as black/white. The analogy is far from useful because of its premise. I think it was a journalist who got it close- saying that it wasn’t a thief breaking into your home- at least with regard to asylum seekers. That’s more like someone running from a murderer who jumps into your window for safety. The real criminal (the wanna-be murderer) won’t enter your house, but you can choose to protect the would-be victim. Or you can kick them out and let them get murdered.
But that may be too complex for fake news spam emails.

Sigh. . A country and a house are not analogous. A country is not private property. You do not and can not “own” it. . Further, the analogy is flawed in the sense that it invites ridiculous conclusions. The same logic would posit that a state is a “house” and California could lock its doors to Nevadans, Georgians, or anyone else. The same logic would posit that a county is a “house” and Fulton County could lock its doors to folks from Cobb, DeKalb, or Gwinnett Counties. Naw, it’s not.
The post above shows how it’s 100% backwards with regard to asylum seekers.
As for others, there are other issues. Say, for instance, you were a truly compassionate Christian. Then your “house” may be better seen as a church, or a soup kitchen. Or maybe your house has a guest house out back.
Simple analogies are for simple people.
Not that’s it’s a crime to be simple.

Does America still suck btw? Because I know exactly when America will be considered great again. I know most Trumpists say America became great again on that election night, but then you’d have to argue that it was already great. Authoritarianism is snatching children from their parents. Authoritarianism is stripping people of their citizenship who are here legally. Ethnic cleansing is authoritarianism. Less taxes is neither authoritarian nor libertarian. Less taxes are people who think everything the government does should be free. Conservatives believe they don’t need to pay for anything.
