Pope I don’t think you read the article as closely as you should. Suspect appeared to be in the midst of a mental breakdown and was subdued, not by a firearm, but by the homeowner putting him in a bear hug. I’m sure you can find better stories about the joys of shooting the mentally handicapped on whatever alt-right websites you frequent. Pope I think the TMZ staffer made the point a bit more succinctly than Rep. Waters: “I actually don’t think you’re thinking anything. I think what you’re doing now is the absence of thought. And the reason why I feel like that is because, Kanye, you’re entitled to y our opinion. You’re entitled to believe whatever you want. But there is fact, and real-world, real-life consequence behind everything that you just said. And while you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you’ve earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives. We have to deal with the marginalization that has come from the 400 years of slavery you said, for our people, was a choice. Frankly, I’m disappointed, I’m appalled, and brother, I am unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have morphed into something, to me, that’s not real.” In other words, Kanye is entitled to say whatever he wants. But he needs to recognize that he has a very unique and powerful platform, that his status inoculates him from a lot of the realities of racism and discrimination in this country, and that he is looked up to by Black boys and girls and men and women. Kanye has a long history of acting like a jack— and a little self-reflection before speaking would help him.* *A little self-reflection before speaking would help all of us, quite honestly. Pope It’s National Prayer Day… – NBC News is reporting that federal investigators obtained a wiretap of Michael Cohen’s phone lines before their “raids” of Cohen’s office, home, and hotel room. – Rudy Giuliani is giving a series of disastrous interviews in which he’s implicating his client, Donald Trump, in multiple violations of federal campaign finance laws and torching the last remaining shreds of credibility Trump had left. – The Braves are in 1st place and working on a sweep of the New York Mets. … looks like prayers really do get answered. May 3, 2018 2:50 PM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope 2 corrections: 1. It’s a pen register, not a wiretap. Way less exciting or significant. 2. The Braves are no longer working on a sweep, they have completed the sweep. May 3, 2018 5:27 PM Log in to Reply Benevolus Yikes!
