It’s Mike Soroka Day on GP. And how about that DP the Braves turned in the 4th inning?

They should be punished, right?

Only someone on your side would suggest that. These be patriotic, Real American kids!

Says the dude who goes on days long rants every time someone mentions one of the kids from Stoneman Douglas.

I know that convincing you to develop a sense of shame is a wasted endeavor, but for heaven’s sake at least develop some consistency in your positions.

Local schools here are doing ISS for any student who walks out for any protest. Does not matter why, who or for what.

That’s at least a fair policy, but it would be much more interesting and educational if they could also add a few hours every couple of months or so- call it a Civil Participation Day or something- where the students could sponsor and attend protests of their own choosing. There would certainly be some valuable lessons in there, some sprinkled with civic tension perhaps.

I’m thinking Andrew was somehow involved here.

No, but I completely support her right to protest.

Protest or deface public property? What should her punishment be?

Just because I’m a lawyer doesn’t mean I’m familiar with the criminal penalties for misdemeanor vandalism in Chapel Hill, NC.

What are the odds we get a wave of leaks about communications between the Special Counsel and the White House right after Rudy Giuliani is brought on board?

I know he’s no longer with us, but how soon will we get similar allegations about Peter Jennings? And what about Rather? Think the MeToo gals will come after him?

Remember that time you were totally cool with child molestation because the person doing the molesting shared your political beliefs?

Last night, Mike Pence appeared at a fundraiser alongside Joe Arpaio, a man who tortured inmates and was held in contempt for racially targeting Latinos, and Carl Higbie, a man who said that he “wholeheartedly” believes “that the black race as a whole, not totally, is lazier than the white race, period.”

In case anyone held any doubt that Mike Pence and Nick Ayers’s “Christian values” are malleable for someone other than Trump.

Noway2016

What form did Sherriff Joe’s “torture” manifest itself? I’m picturing the wrack or stockade. Can you elaborate?

Andrew C. Pope

Per the Justice Department, Latina detainees were “denied basic sanitary items,” “forced to remain with sheets or pants soiled from menstruation” and subject to extended periods of solitary confinement due to their inability to understand English. As for Latino prisoners, Arpaio stationed most of them in a Tent City, an open-air structure in the middle of the Arizona desert where temperatures could reach as high as 141 degrees. Arpaio was proud of it, called it the “tent where all the Mexicans are,” he compared it favorably with a concentration camp, and said it’s his “favorite spot.” On multiple occasions, federal… Read more »

Pence praised Arpaio’s commitment to “rule of law”- not mentioning the criminal conviction or breaches of the Constitution. Even Arpaio’s pardon shows that many Americans think the rule of law just means the rule of politics and the laws of the ‘ole Wild West.

Andrew C. Pope
Andrew C. Pope

Arpaio’s pardon was just one dotty old racist (Trump) looking out for another dotty old racist (Arapaio) upon the recommendation of another dotty old racist (Roger Stone).

The overwhelming majority of Real Common Sense Americans love sheriff Joe!!! Maybe Trump can appoint him to some federal position that doesn’t require The Ninnies in the senate.

Given your support for child molesters, I’m not shocked you’re also on team Arpaio.

Could you kindly point me to the parts of the New Testament where Jesus advocated torturing people because of their race and molesting teenage girls?

Why do they love him?

Only if your version of American forgets that half of all Americans exist.
Support for Arpaio mirrors the level of support for Trump- in the mid 30s.

‘Which means Trump and Arpaio may hold a slim majority amongst Republicans, but 2 out of 3 Americans, including 2 out of 5 Republicans, oppose. So nothing overwhelming there.

Lord, I see Rain Man is back! All you have in that teeny arsenal to counter basically anything I ever say is the “child molester” or “racist” thing. Is it time for Wapner? LOL! You truly are a sad little man. So, SnowBiscuit, I’ve been on Team Arpaio’s team for over 20 years. Loved it when he brought the chain gangs back, by the way. Pink underwear and bologna sandwiches were also a nice touch. He was the only man it America, it seems, who was enforcing US immigration law, when federal weenies wouldn’t. Real Americans hate criminals. Especially ones… Read more »

Real Americans hate criminals

Unless those criminals molested some teenage girls, right?

Will Durant

“Real Americans hate criminals.” Found within a statement made rejecting a racist label while also extolling the virtues(?) of a convicted racist felon. Are you too ignorant to see the irony in that? As I’ve already pointed out to you this guy directed his deputies to break the law for years pulling over everyone who fit their racial/ethnic profiles. Even a 10th generation Arizonian who had Hispanic traits was subject to being detained if they weren’t found carrying ze papers. Road blocks and raids only in Latino neighborhoods… Chain gangs? My God man, you are glorifying a Southwestern twist to… Read more »

The end of Boy Scouts of America is almost complete. All that is left is the name change to the parent organization. As the father of an Eagle Scout I’ll continue to support the organization regardless of what the name becomes. They are needed now more than ever.

Here are 580 words about the concept of opinions. Lots of cliches are explored and exposed. Pictures, which have nothing to do with the text, were taken on the USS Brooklyn between 1896 and 1899. https://chamblee54.wordpress.com/2018/05/02/truth-about-opinions-2/
