Rep. Loudermilk: Mike Pompeo an Excellent Choice

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R, GA-11) has issued a statement praising President Donald Trump’s choice of CIA Director Mike Pompeo to replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State:

“Today, we find ourselves at another pivotal moment for our nation. President Trump’s administration has made progress in dealing with denuclearizing North Korea and voiced plans to reform our country’s trade deals – none of which will be possible without a steady hand directing the State Department. That steady hand will be my former colleague, Mike Pompeo. Mike’s time as a member of Congress and as Director of the CIA undoubtedly makes him an excellent candidate to be the United States’ next world-wide ambassador.”

A steady hand is about all the qualifications he’s got for the job.
Dude’s an Islamophobe, no spy experience before being appointed to CIA last year.
But, he’s a conservative Christian and probably expressed deep loyalty to The President ™.

So the President fires the Secretary of State without notice, via Twitter, and apparently in a reaction to the Secretary’s decision to publicly side with our allies in the UK over the Putin regime.

Loudermilk’s response: bend over and lick Trump’s boots.

The Congressional GOP is so breathtakingly spineless. Cowards all the way down.

Pompeo, a guy with zero experience will be supporting the unstable dotard in a pivotal situation. The situation is indeed ripe for a North Korean breakthrough.

Dave, what IF, and it’s a huge if, what if Trump gets a deal for denuclarization? Even CNN calls that a potential huge accomplishment. Nobel, start engraving that name.

He’d deserve the Nobel.

As I said recently, I’m hoping one of my Mega-Millions tickets comes in too.

Here’s a prediction. The meeting never occurs unless there’s something hot in the news that needs to be overwhelmed.

Has Trump actually made any deals yet? He’s pretty good a breaking them. The only thing I can think of is the tax cut, which was pretty easy since it’s just a cash payoff before the midterms that is really just a loan from the next generation. Generally, Trump seems to have a hard time accepting”yes” for an answer. He always wants more. Does anybody really believe that Donald Trump would be able to negotiate a nuclear deal with NK, with an inspection regime (from who, the UN?)? No, Trump will try to bully and bluster, Kim will say something… Read more »

The dude can’t even negotiate a deal with his own party. Why anyone thinks he can negotiate with a homicidal dictator is beyond me. Here’s the thing… Kim Jong Un isn’t a moron. He saw what happened in Lybia when Gaddafi gave up his nuclear program. He saw what happened in Iraq when Hussein gave up his nuclear program. North Korea sees nuclear weapons as a deterrent against US and South Korean aggression. So long as NK has a nuke, they believe, the US and SK won’t overthrow the existing regime. So Noway’s hypothetical of Trump successfully negotiating for a… Read more »

Looks like Noway has nailed old Hillary with this cartoon. She has a set of coconuts to go to India and complain that she lost because of how racist America is. I guess all of the white Klan members voted for the black guy the last 2 elections but came out in full force in their white robes to vote against the white woman! Give me a break. And she says that white women will only vote the way their husbands and sons tell them to vote. Really! My wife would beat my tail if I TOLD HER to vote… Read more »

Why was Margaret Thatcher so successful and elected some 40 years ago. … Angela Merkel seems to be doing a pretty good job the last I checked she is still a female. The UK and Germany both operate parliamentary systems which are entirely different animals from the United States. Thatcher was never elected nationwide, she only ran in her home constituency. Same for Merkel. It’s the equivalent of Nancy Pelosi being Speaker of the House. Not to bore everyone, but studies have actually shown that women have more power in parliamentary systems because political success depends more on one’s ability… Read more »
