I want to know who designed West Forsyth High School. That brick work and the fake pediments are hideous.

Democrats can add being the party of mass murderers to addition to being un-American, traitors, and tools of Satan: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2018/02/22/gop-congresswoman-claims-so-many-mass-murderers-end-up-being-democrats/?utm_term=.4b860cce677f

As is now common, the characterization is being made by an elected Republican, not your garden variety wack-job wingnut.

Proud to be called un-American by any Republican.

There are fine un-Americans on both sides?

This is a good editorial by David French.

I know a few of you who need to read this… (on both sides)

Point of personal privilege: In news Eiger will be dismayed to hear, I might be moving back to Washington.

I’ve also enjoyed watching Marco Rubio, Bill O’Reilly, and bunch of alt-right dolts getting absolutely clowned by a bunch of teenagers this week. Reinforces two things I’ve always known to be true: 1) the Internet generation knows how to use social media more effectively than politicians and media folks and 2) you should never mess with teens because they are uniquely capable of belittling you in ways that cut incredibly deep.

Eiger won’t be the only dismayed.

It sure is impressive watching kids that were eating Tide Pods last week telling us about the 2nd amendment…really? Why not have school choice? You send your kids to schools that are soft targets and no defense and I will send my kids to a school with an armed security guard and personnel that are trained. That seems to a workable solution. Which school do you think is safer? I don’t want to have to wait for the cops to get there.. Plus Americans will still have the right to protect themselves. Does anyone know the words….”shall not be abridged”… Read more »

I think witnessing 17 of your friends and teachers get killed provides you with a pretty unique and informed perspective of school shootings and the type of damage one guy with an AR-15 can inflict. I’d certainly wager they know a heck of a lot more than you do, random Internet commenter. Why not have school choice? You send your kids to schools that are soft targets and no defense and I will send my kids to a school with an armed security guard and personnel that are trained. You do that, hoss. I’ll send my kid to the school… Read more »

”shall not be abridged”?

The individual right to carry was established by activist judges over the past 40 years. Corporations having rights comparable to individuals is another instance of judicial activism. Except that it’s not judicial activism unless it’s the evolution of law opposed by the GOP.

If you want to arm teachers, here are some questions you can help answer: – Which teachers get guns? – Where will the guns be stored? – Who decides when the guns can be taken out of storage? – What penalties apply if a teacher mishandles a weapon? – Can teachers refuse gun duty? Can they volunteer for it? – Who will audit a teacher’s compliance with the rules and regulations? – Will students be told which teachers have a weapon? – Who will be liable if the teacher with the gun becomes the shooter? – Who will be liable… Read more »

Let me add, what will the facility, district liability, and district causality insurance policy cost increase be? Fact; there are school systems that refuse to allow a school trip out side the county due to the additional liability rider’s cost. There are districts the can’t afford the insurance increase to allow non-school district related events (like federally funded after school programs, sport tournaments beyond GHSA schedules game) on school grounds.

My brother had THAT EXACT meme on the Tide Pods word for word on his Facebook feed last night. It don’t go over well there either.

Congrats I guess. It’s still pretty swampy up here.

More congrats to Mrs. Pope, she’s the one being considered for a promotion. Re-adjusting to the swamp will be tricky, lots of friends left for jobs with real money after the transition, but I’ve still got my waders in the closet somewhere.

Congrats on her potential opportunity. I can only hope you buy in Arlington or the District…Traffic is pure hell, as you know! Only one way in Route 50 or 66. I’m actually getting antsy thinking about y’alls potential commute.

Alexandria is great and I ride the metro everyday. We decided to live in Northern Virginia because the taxes are slightly less and I could keep all my guns without having to register them.

Andrew C. Pope

We used to live in Dupont Circle which was doable back when it was just the two of us. Green/Yellow line means we’re looking at Arlington or at PG

Well, let me know when you get in town.

If she get’s promoted I’ll be sans job until I can find something in DC, so yeah.

I guess congratulation maybe in order for your Mrs. and you if she lands the promotion. It would take a lot for me to violate my creed, American by birth, Southern by the grace of God… Good luck to you both…

We can (and should) arrest students for making terroristic threats who have no access to weapons and can’t find an ex-student who made terroristic threats and signed his real name who had access to weapons.

That is a new definition for Irony…

Interesting. I’ll bet my Deplorables buddies will boycott THEM and they’ll come crawling back!

Cause the Keurig boycott worked so well.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Chick Filet windfall after Snowflakes called for a boycott there. Biggest single day’s haul in their history. Something like that.

Looking at the list. Banks? Accounts can be closed. Easy one there! Rental Cars? Hello Avis! Hotels? Cancel reservations!
Just like the economic damage caused to the NFL by Real Americans.
“You kneel? We gonna make you squeal!!” Pretty damn simple…

Hertz owns Avis, and is included.

BlackRock is looking at moving index stock shares it can not sell to create non fire arm mutual funds, and as large stock holds for 5 major arms manufactures/sellers, through their proxy shareholders to ask what they are doing to improve gun safety, and migrate liability while preventing harm.

Noway2016
Noway2016

What the gun manufacturers are doing for safety? Not a G-damn thing. Ummmm, let’s see. How bout “treat all firearms as if they’re loaded!” “Don’t aim at anything you aren’t willing to destroy!” Ummmmm…”Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to fire!” How ’bout those suggestions printed on a leaflet inserted inside the box?? Aside from that, gun manufacturers got no liability in this situation. None! You want the same ridiculous “Safety ” crap from the makers of Ginsu knives??? What…”Blade is sharp!”??? I know!!! On every product ever made, an insert that reads, “Use Responsibly!!!” You people… Read more »

Messenger Noway. I am just the messenger. Thus stop addressing your comments as if I’m personally the one forcing them to happen. I’m just relaying the info that a $6.7 trillion centralist-right leaning investment management servicing company is looking at ‘possibly doing’ through their shareholder’s proxy. They own almost 20% of Smith and Wesson, 14% of Ruger, and 10% of AOB, plus 8 % of Dick’s sporting goods. As the owner of 1/5 of Smith and Wesson, IF they want stronger requirements then what the government minimally allows to sell a gun, they can. IF they force through shareholder vote… Read more »

Blackrock has those funds already in various forms …. for example iShares MSCI USA ESG Select (SUSA).

The iShares MSCI USA ESG Select ETF seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of U.S. companies that have positive environmental, social and governance characteristics as identified by the index provider.

It’s performance is better than broad indexes, of course it owns the stock of it’s parent, Blackrock.

Ellynn
Ellynn

It also has a much larger client base of public employees (institutions) retirement funds they manage, including state wide school systems, nurses, law enforcement, etc., which some are asking to have all funds owning AOB and a few other AK-15 manufactures, removed from it’s investment portfolio. BlackRock is going to need to either shift client assets from one fund to another or move the stock from one fund to the other if it wants to keep the client. The other option is to create new specialized funds to cater to certain clients. Again, it’s good PR for them, with out… Read more »

Settle down. I didn’t mention a thing about suing. You did. Even I know congress pass a law preventing gun manufactures from ever being sued. Liability has more then one meaning you know. I was using number 3.

Where have I made even one post that treats abortion with the same exuberance you use for Roy Moore and gun violence?
