GA Rep. Jan Tankersley Draws A Republican Challenger

Statesboro attorney Robert Busbee will announce his candidacy for House Seat 160 on Monday, February 19 at noon from the steps of the Bulloch County Courthouse. The seat is currently held by Rep. Jan Tankersley, a Republican who has been serving in the House since 2011. Busbee will qualify as a Republican and will face Tankersley in the May 22nd primary. District 160 covers most of southern Bulloch County and northern Bryan County.

According to his professional website, Busbee is a native of Jesup, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia Southern with a degree in political science and then moved on to law school at Georgia State University. He opened his law practice in Statesboro after working for a corporate law firm during law school.
