Speaker Ralston Announces Mid-Term Committee Chair Changes

In preparation of the upcoming legislative session, the House Speaker David Ralston had a few committees that needed a chair. The resignations of Representatives Amy Carter and Brian Strickland left openings to lead the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and Industry and Labor, respectively. Buzz Brockway, while not resigning his house seat as looks ahead to a race for Secretary of State, has decided to yield his Chairmanship of the Code Revision Committee.

As such, new chairmen have been appointed as follows:

Appropriation Subcommittee on General Government: Rep Chad Nimmer (R-Blackshear)

Code Revision Committee: Rep Timothy Barr (R-Lawrenceville)

Industry and Labor: Rep Bill Werkheiser

Small Business Development Committee (Formerly led by Rep Nimmer, promoted above): Rep Sam Watson (R-Moultrie)
