I know that everyone is preoccupied with the hurricane-induced devastation in Puerto Rico and the gun-induced devastation in Las Vegas, but it’s important to point out that Congress failed to reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the program — which provides health coverage for 9 million children — expired at the end of September. That’s right, Congress was so busy purposefully trying to take health insurance away from 32 million Americans that they accidentally took health insurance away from 9 million kids.
