Poll: Should Georgia Increase Its Minimum Wage to At Least $10?
Target has announced that it is raising its minimum wage to $11, with a promise to increase it to $15 by 2020. Wal-Mart has set its minimum wage at $10. Both of these are almost double Georgia’s minimum wage is $5.15, which is superceded by the Federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
Is it time for Georgia, often cited as the #1 place to do business, to invest in its workforce by increasing its minimum wage to at least $10? Let your voice be heard in the poll and the comment section.

Every company noted has a minimum wage higher than state and federal. If the free market place is working why mess with the regulations?
The market is lifting minimum wages. That’s how it’s supposed to work. So, No.
When Congress and the White House (Obama) were controlled by Democrats they didn’t lift a finger to raise the minimum wage. Why is that?
Because GOP and neolibs (Republican Lite) work for their wealthy donors. Wages have been stagnant for many years. Even mainstream biz press is reporting this now because the effects are now too obvious to ignore. The correlation between the market and economy is 0. Profits are stashed overseas and used to buy back stock to raise share prices, among other trickery that has created the fake economic recovery. No innovation. No creating jobs. No raising wages. This model is not sustsinable, but a few are living large until the bubbles pop. 2/3 of the economy is driven by consumer demnamd. Simce the 70s, wealth has been redistributed from the working and middle class to the wealthy. A higher minimum wage will also drive middle class salaries up, thus moving more wealth back to the people who buy things and drive demand. Win-win for everybody.
If $24k yr. is a level that substantially reduces public assistance:
(Business friendly market can also mean public subsidized)
$24k/2,080hrsyr = $11.50 hr.
Illegal off corner = $12.00 hr.
So for starting a debate $12hr
