Georgia comes in at #22, between Oregon and Texas, based on their fiscal solvency in five separate categories – – cash on hand, budgeting, long-term commitments, capability to expand, and unfunded pension and healthcare liabilities. * Florida comes in first, New Jersey last. * https://www.mercatus.org/statefiscalrankings July 12, 2017 7:17 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Found myself asking the following questions while watching Fox for the first time in a long time? When did Tucker Carlson ditch the bow tie? Why is this Jessie Waters guy dressed like a bellhop? Do people’s really think Jay Sekulow is a “legal expert?” Is Sean Hannity just a dumber Brian Kilmeade or is Brian Kilmeade just a dumber Sean Hannity? Comparing Don Jr. to Fredo is really unfair to Fredo. Fredo at least knew how to run a casino. Not a question, more of an observation. July 12, 2017 8:11 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope That first sentence shouldn’t have a question mark. What happened to the freaking edit button? Gah! July 12, 2017 8:14 AM Log in to Reply Jack Fitz I watched for the first time in a while too. The Five (or 4 v. Juan as it should be called) seriously felt like it was being produced by RT. Dana Perino looks so uncomfortable; anytime her conscience looks to be yelling at her she realizes shes getting a big paycheck and then goes back to being numb. I’d love to see the commercial breaks. The 4 must be so winded after trying to blow out the flames of the Hindenburg. When they ease up on the assessor smoke, wait for the commish cry “we didn’t raise your taxes”. July 12, 2017 10:29 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Querry over Murray. Called it here yesterday. July 12, 2017 11:14 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Yes you did! Glad he’s out! Ok, let’s work on Djoker choking! July 12, 2017 11:23 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Ok. Murray – out; Djoker – quit; Cilic – still alive. Fed to play Berdych. Hmmmmm….I’m a little concerned there. But I think it’s Fed over Querry for number 19! Your thoughts Drew? July 12, 2017 3:25 PM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Cillic probably too much for ol Sam. Querry played out of his mind today and took advantage of Murray’s wonky hip. At the end of the day, though, Querry is just a better version of Isner: big serve, ok baseline game, nothing else of value. Cillic has looked good enough to exploit Querry’s lack of abilities outside of the serve. Fed’s match against Raonic showed that Roger is still in peak form. Just absolutely abused that guy. If he plays like that against Berdych it’ll be another straight set win. July 12, 2017 5:08 PM Log in to Reply Sally Forth RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! Just popping in to say Hi, and to get y’all back onto this ongoing distraction, lefty obfuscation/smoke screen. Ignore the booming Trump economy (another historic high today), Americans suffering under the limited choices and high costs brought on by Obamacare which is now down to 141 issuers as compared to 281 just 2 years ago, the liberation of Mosul and reclaiming of Iraq by its Prime Minister, Prez Trump departing for Paris, today for meetings and Bastille Day celebrations with America’s oldest ally, etc. out the wazoo. Carry on. July 12, 2017 5:12 PM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Wait. I’m confused. Do you want us to talk about Russia? Because no one in this thread seems to be talking about it except you. As for the economy, all I see is job growth largely in line with what we were seeing under Obama. As for Obamacare you’ve simply regurgitated some Paul Ryan talking point that has no basis in reality. As for Mosul, this was an offensive started under Obama and there was no strategic shift from Obama to Trump. So, if you’re gonna congratulate Trump on that, you should probably throw some appreciation Obama’s way. But tell me more about this Russia thing. July 12, 2017 5:56 PM Log in to Reply Sally Forth I saw your Fredo comment above and decided to throw a fast ball across the plate. You swung, and your responses struck out. Trump was elected primarily because he is not a politician or part of the DC establishment. He and his family were not adept to the dirty tricks of entrenched operatives. A meeting arranged by a burned-out Australian publicist whose only client of note was John Denver, with the help of Fusion GPS, the Democrats’ oppositional research company. What could go wrong with that? A Republican candidate’s political-novice family member talking for a few minutes with someone from another country about adoption of children. The audacity of it all! Next thing we know, Don Jr. will be drinking red wine with fish! July 12, 2017 9:21 PM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope He and his family were not adept to the dirty tricks of entrenched operatives So we should give him a break because he’s an idiot? “Entrenched operatives” would have reported this email to the FBI, they certainly wouldn’t have responded with “I love it, especially later in the summer.” When someone tried to give Bush’s debate prep materials to the Gore campaign, the campaign contacted authorities. That’s what you do when an adverse foreign power contacts you about trying to influence the election. A meeting arranged by a burned-out Australian publicist If this guy is a huge nobody, then why did Trump Jr. return his email and invite Manafort and Kushner, the campaign manager and the campaign’s senior adviser? A Republican candidate’s political-novice family member talking for a few minutes with someone from another country about adoption of children. Quit acting like he’s too stupid to know better. While he probably is a gigantic idiot, he is also (presumably) a grown man. He should know right from wrong. Also, the meeting wasn’t about adoption. The first freaking email says that this “Russian government lawyer” has dirt on Hillary Clinton and that the meeting is part of the Russian government’s interest in helping the Trump campaign. Do y’all have “Intro to Reading Comprehension” courses at Troll State? July 13, 2017 7:08 AM Log in to Reply Sally Forth ACP, how did I know you’d disagree totally? For the record, I am one of the original posters on Peach Pundit who migrated over here when GAPol was created. Hardly a “troll” – but you wouldn’t know that because you are a newcomer who enjoys insulting anyone with whom you disagree. Your rudeness is one of the reasons that I rarely post here any more. The entrenched operatives to whom I referred are Democrats and their hired-gun muck rakers at Fusion 365. The request for meeting was a bait and switch that turned out to be a conversation about adopting children. The woman was not “an adverse foreign power” by any stretch, just a private attorney who has publicly stated that she has never had any connection to the Russian government. The Aussie mis-spoke, either intentional or not, when he said that in his email. It misled Trump Jr. and crew into trying to do some oppositional research, like every other political campaign does. That nothing conversation was definitely not anything worthy of reporting to the FBI and no comparison at all to Bush’s debate prep materials being given to Gore. But speaking of debate prep materials, why hasn’t Donna Brazile been prosecuted, or at least persecuted by the media with full throat, for giving Hillary the debate questions prior to the CNN debate? No wonder HRC went into seclusion for two weeks before hand – she was studying the actual debate questions! Where is all the indignation when there is actually some “there” there? Ellynn, thanks for the link to more leftist anti-Trump propaganda attempts to make something out of nothing. Item 2 could actually have the word Obama inserted instead of Trump and applied to A/G Lynch’s illegal tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton about the FBI investigation into Hillary’s malfeasance while in office as Secty of State. But people who still cannot get over the fact they lost the election don’t want to talk about actual crimes by their team that occurred last summer. It’s much more fun to make up stuff about the current President. July 13, 2017 4:16 PM Ellynn As a true Trumpter this most likely doesn’t interest you Mr. Sally, but… https://www.axios.com/the-dumbing-down-of-normal-trumps-top-10-2458452507.html July 13, 2017 11:55 AM Log in to Reply Add a Comment Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
