Get your Irish on in the ATL today. Finally. But there’s still plenty of time to screw it up. Heaven forbid. How do YOU say it? Dolly Parton keeping her word. Say it ain’t so! Final destination. Good grief. Good Grief, Part II. No matter what you think, you’re a racist. That didn’t take long. For those that follow The Steyn. Brexit gets nod from HRM. No bills slated for today. Betcha a dollar they’re all in Savannah, you know, researching native customs. Or something. The GA Amazon Law is a diddle. Spread sales taxes out and reduce the rate? Nah March 17, 2017 8:01 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. No surveillance. He lied again. He’s paranoid. What now? Everything else is a distraction. March 17, 2017 9:13 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Top story in every UK paper this morning was the US having to apologize after Spicer falsely accused Britain of helping Obama wiretap Trump. For those keeping score, the Administration made up a lie about our closest ally in order to cover for Trump’s previous lie(s) that Obama wiretapped his phone. This comes as we’re wasting taxpayer dollars to have Senate and House intelligence committees “investigate” Trump’s lies because his delicate ego won’t allow him to admit that he was wrong. March 17, 2017 9:23 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Go read Levin’s info on this whole story and come back and try to say something semi intelligent. March 17, 2017 9:42 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Ok. Here goes. 1) Levin’s story is based on unconfirmed reports from anonymous sources (which, according to the President, can never be trusted) that the FBI obtained a FISA warrant for a computer server in Trump Tower. 2) That isn’t wiretapping. 3) These same anonymous sources say that the warrant was obtained to investigate two Russian banks accused of providing money to Trump’s campaign. 4) The same anonymous sources say that Trump was not named in the FISA order. 6) If a FISA warrant was issued, it’s because a federal court found that there was probable cause the banks were engaged in illegal activity. 7) FBI and DOJ investigations operate independently of the White House, so Obama would not and could not have ordered the FBI to obtain a FISA warrant. 8) Nowhere in the stories linked to by Levin is Obama accused of wrongdoing. 9) The President has the ability to learn all this information and either hasn’t done so or did do so and was told, politely, that he’s wrong. Rather than actually provide evidence the Administration has walked back, then walked forward, the outsourced the focus to Senate and House intel committees, then said something about microwaves, then doubled down with more lies, then failed to respond to the intel committees, then walked back, then tripled down by accusing an ally of doing the wiretapping, then apologized. All this because the President is an over-grown trust fund baby that has never had to admit wrongdoing at any point in his sheltered, coddled, special snowflake life and doesn’t want to start now. Speaking of failing to follow through on things, he still hasn’t provided evidence to back up his voter fraud claims either. March 17, 2017 10:08 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Levin cites articles in NYT and other media outlets. Levin doesn’t have the sources, the fake news media claims that transcripts of intercepts exist. Put THOSE on the table fake news! He just puts together already published stories. Ruh-Roh!! Seriously, go to utube and listen to his explanation for 10-15 mins and see if it makes no sense? He ain’t a dope. March 17, 2017 10:25 AM Andrew C. Pope The NYT, BBC, and other established news media outlets cited by Levin don’t say anything about Obama wiretapping Trump and don’t support anything Levin said or Trump later tweeted. Noway, this isn’t hard. Actually read the things Levin “cited.” There is absolutely Z-E-R-O support or evidence for Trump’s claims outside of something a talk radio guy said after huffing a bunch of paint and reading a couple right-wing blogs. March 17, 2017 11:14 AM Dave Bearse I’m looking forward to Congressional attention to the good times Trump had in a Moscow hotel since publication is the standard. March 18, 2017 2:05 PM CoastalCat Where is the apology to Mr. Obama? Where is the apology to the American people? March 17, 2017 9:42 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Judging by that crowd in Nashville a couple of nights ago, no apologies needed! Lol! March 17, 2017 10:38 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Correction, there has apparently been no apology to the Brits. At the press conference today, Trump said the UK should take it up with Fox News and the “talented legal mind” (and 9/11 truther) Andrew Napolitano. So he’s now quadrupling down on this wiretapping claim. To think that the world would be a completely different place had Fred Trump merely spanked his son. March 17, 2017 4:13 PM Log in to Reply CoastalCat Oh, there was an apology. Trump is lying again. March 17, 2017 4:19 PM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Like father like son? March 17, 2017 9:26 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Oh, you want him to tell us all about that plan? He ain’t gonna say squat, I know, a first for a series of prezes who vomit out all our war plans. March 17, 2017 9:44 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope I thought he already had the plan? Why haven’t we defeated ISIS yet? It was supposed to be so simple, so easy, especially with Trump, who knows more than the generals, quite frankly. March 17, 2017 9:53 AM Log in to Reply CoastalCat One other concerning thing about the Trump Administration is the absolute lack of qualified people who will work for him or his Cabinet. DC is empty of expertise with a vindictive paranoid child at the top.. March 17, 2017 9:54 AM Log in to Reply Benevolus How does Tillerson/Trump think provoking N. Korea will play out? Do they think the lunatic will apologize and behave because we scold them? Isn’t the goal here to have a policy that avoids people getting killed? March 17, 2017 2:33 PM Log in to Reply Ellynn After 3 hours, and 32 mins, I can report that the only folks from Under the Dome who were in the St Pats parade in Savannah were Sens. Jackson and Watson. Not even a local house member. Everyone will be here next year who is on a local or state ballot… Election year parades. I’m off to find some lamb stew and colcannon, with a Smithwicks Red to wash it down. March 17, 2017 1:56 PM Log in to Reply CoastalCat Where do you recommend besides Kevin Barry’s? March 17, 2017 2:18 PM Log in to Reply Ellynn If just drinking great Irish beer or whiskey, O’Connell’s downtown. Good selection. Any other weekend out of the year I would say Six Pence. Shepard’s pie, Bangers, and Guinness stew as consistently good. Most high end places are serving something ‘Irish’ this week end. Last year I had a lamb shank with stout gravy at now closed Sapphire Grill. Crystal Beer Parlor has the typical bastardized corned beef and cabbage (a bacon rasher and curly kale is the Irish original), Hitch is doing some southern twists on Irish classics, including lamb. We will see what I can find. Can always find mussels (and cockles, alive alive ohhh…) at Loves or I can raid Molly’s in Pooler, Wilmington Island or Richmond Hill if I want to avoid the crazy.
