Eight Candidates Qualify for Senate District 32

Qualifying closed today at 1:00 p.m. in the Senate District 32 race and eight candidates have qualified for the seat vacated by Judson Hill. Hill is currently running as a Republican in the crowded GA-6 race to replace Sec. Tom Price.

A total of five Republicans and three Democrats qualified. They include three physicians, two attorneys, and a first for me, a railroad conductor.

The election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, 2017, with in-person advance voting beginning on March 27, a scant four weeks away. The registration deadline for this special election (and GA-6) is March 20.

A list of the candidates, as provided by the Secretary of State’s Office, is below. While it means absolutely nothing, it is interesting the way the candidates are grouped by Party¬†when the list is sorted alphabetically by first name.
