Solution Drumbeat: pump the tax money into transportation, statewide. No? Reject the bill. January 12, 2017 7:11 AM Log in to Reply Bart Unfortunately Nunn can’t vote, little Marco can and he wants his pound of flesh. Since when did Marco care about human rights which suddenly became his hot button issue yesterday? He’s still pissed that he had to run for re-election to a job he admittedly despises after losing badly to Trump even in his home state primary. He will end up voting yes to Tillerson but only after enjoying 15 min in the spotlight as the GOPer who could stop the nomination. January 12, 2017 9:45 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope I mean Rubio is totally going to vote yay, but only because he’s a predicable coward. To defend him somewhat, the guy is plugged in and knowledgeable on foreign affairs. I disagree with his neocon, Cheney on steroids, approach to foreign policy, but the man knows his stuff. January 12, 2017 9:12 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 From the upcoming Trivial Pursuit Snowflake Edition, “Who is the ONLY US Senator who has testified against another’s confirmation?” That’s right, Cory Booker. This was to be his springboard to the Oval Office?! LOL! You cannot make this stuff up…. January 12, 2017 7:47 AM Log in to Reply gcp Yesterday House dems temporarily lost John Lewis, their village idiot. The old windbag won’t sway any senators and Sessions will be confirmed. Lewis is a good example of why we need term limits. January 12, 2017 8:35 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Imagine Robert Duvall’s character in Apocalypse Now, in the helicopter saying, “I like the smell of groveling in the morning. It smells like…victory!” “DNI Clapper Statement on Conversation with President-elect Trump This evening, I had the opportunity to speak with President-elect Donald Trump to discuss recent media reports about our briefing last Friday. I expressed my profound dismay at the leaks that have been appearing in the press, and we both agreed that they are extremely corrosive and damaging to our national security. President-elect Trump again affirmed his appreciation for all the men and women serving in the Intelligence Community, and I assured him that the IC stands ready to serve his Administration and the American people. James R. Clapper, Director of National Intelligence” The intel community is lined up, sniveling, giving the following line, “Yes sir, thank you sir, please sir, may I have another?” Love this New Sheriff! January 12, 2017 8:43 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Interestingly, the other part of the readout you conspicuously left out was Clapper’s statement that the IC has not made a decision as to the veracity of the information in the dossier. January 12, 2017 9:57 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Drew, do you really think Trump brought in hookers to wee-wee on the very bed Obama slept in?! You ain’t a dummy but I still think you’re in shell shock. If Trump sucks just think about the margin of defeat the Dems will have in ’20. And this much is also true: no one will ever replicate what Trump did this election cycle. January 12, 2017 10:08 AM Log in to Reply Andrew C. Pope Do I personally think Donald Trump hired prostitutes to urinate on a hotel bed and, as some people, big league people, really reliable people, are saying, his face? No. However, I think #GoldenShower-ghazi is just as plausible as the reports that Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery. Maybe Trump should release the long-form video of Olga and Stoyla not urinating on the mattress. January 12, 2017 10:28 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 They say this story was around even before the election. If it had a scintilla of truth to it, you can bet we’d have seen it before election day. I have done extensive oppo research for Repub candidates in the past years and I can tell you that if I ever got something like that, I’d have probably had a heart attack brought upon by the glee I would be feeling for finding something like this. Normally, my days were made if a tax lien or a DUI was unearthed or maybe a misstatement made at an event I was filming. This event simply did not happen and is not true. January 12, 2017 10:39 AM Andrew C. Pope Yes and no. You wouldn’t run a story without some level of proof (ex. the actual DUI court docs). You can’t just call the FSB and ask for a copy of their hidden sex tape of Donald Trump and two Russian prostitutes. That’s why news organizations were trying to run the story down. I will say, defensively tweeting out photos of the front of a closed passport, shouting down reporters, and sending out Kellyanne to obfuscate the story are the kinds of things one would do if the things in the report were true. How can I say that? It’s the same reaction the Trump camp had when the Russian hacking rumors first came out. January 12, 2017 10:51 AM Andrew C. Pope The groveling you’re smelling is coming from Trump’s hotel room. Curiously it smells like Russian floozy urine. I can’t really perceive Clapper’s statement as groveling. Even if you read the full readout (which you curiously edited), the substance of Clapper’s comments to PE(e)OTUS were that this wasn’t an IC document, it wasn’t released by the IC, and members of the IC are prepared to do their jobs and serve the country. January 12, 2017 9:09 AM Log in to Reply Noway2016 Lol! January 12, 2017 9:57 AM Log in to Reply Dave Bearse So was Trump lying or just ignorant about what was in intelligence reports when he was denying the Russians had anything to do with DNC hacking? CNN reporting on the two page intelligence report addendum and Buzzfeed publishing the memos in their entirety was timely. It makes venal a consideration as an adjective describing the Trump Presidency. There’s at least as much truth in that that as Obama not being eligible to be President.
