WalletHub released their latest rankings for the best small cities in America, and once again, several Georgia cities made the cut. Using “30 indicators of livability” to compare 1,268 cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 people, they ranked the best places to live “for those who appreciate fewer degrees of separation and want more bang for their buck.”
The top ten cities in Georgia are all in metro Atlanta:
- Kennesaw (91st percentile)
- Alpharetta (91st percentile)
- Marietta (78th percentile)
- Johns Creek (77th percentile)
- Milton (76th percentile)
- Peachtree City (74th percentile)
- Smyrna (68th percentile)
- Roswell (60th percentile)
- Lawrenceville (55th percentile)
- Duluth (52nd percentile)
At the bottom, Albany and Valdosta are tied in the 1st percentile.
As they did with last year’s list, WalletHub lists a few cities like Mableton (5th percentile) that aren’t technically cities.
Other highlights include Statesboro as one of the small cities with the highest percentage of the population living in poverty, Lawrenceville, which is ranked 4th for the most restaurants per capita, and Duluth, which is tied for 1st place in the same category.
