Morning Reads – Monday, June 6, 2016
Will Kremer is vacationing this week where the Internet is weak, so he asked me to take over his Morning Reads duties. He compiled most of the links, so I’m just the delivery lady.
Look at the size of those onions!
- Miss Georgia comes in second.
- Homegrown testing is a bad idea…or is it?
- Overhaul to prescription drug programs in Georgia on its way.
- Cheers to Georgia Trial Lawyers.
- If you missed some of the #GAGOP drama over the weekend and the chastising of Governor Deal…
- What if Twitter were the Situation Room – Hillary Clinton?

Since you asked.
Re: Waze. This is a constituent issue that I deal with at least once a week. The problem really arises when there’s road work or something temporary happening on a thoroughfare that prompts the traffic apps to route drivers through a residential area, and when the temporary hindrance has passed, drivers stick with the new cut-through route (which is generally not faster after traffic flow in the main route is restored). Short of upping traffic enforcement (since cut-through commuters tend to speed and blow/roll through stop signs), there is not much to do besides telling residents that they’ll basically need to game the system like th residents in the article have done.
What a wonderful year for Georgia Vidalia Onions! That packing date sure did the trick.
Ruh-Roh! Temperament? Was Slick Hilly talking temperament?

You either need to get on Facebook to see yesterdays Bloom County or make sure you check out this upcoming Sunday release. on the link I gave you.
Well, hell, Ellen! You know I’m not on social media…tell me what BC had this past Sunday!! Do tell!
Opus looks for inner political peace through yoga. And ends in a bar drinking with Steve. I know you don’t do social media, I’m just saying you should make a Bloom County exception. He has content that only shows up on his Facebook feed.
You know I only have one ‘e’ in my name right…?
A thousand pardons, my dear!! You got me so excited talking about Opus, I misspelled it!! LOL!
An AJC typical headline story is about our social failures such as the recent about the able bodied that have run out their time on food stamps. Cox Enterprises is a $16 billion dollar business Atlantans are proud of. Do they put their money where their mouth is ? They do support good causes at many levels, primarily museums and botanical gardens.
As their multi-billion dollar media outlets drive home our shortcomings with those that have fallen through the cracks of society perhaps it is time to educate us on their activity filling those cracks. And maybe throw a hundred million or so on their headline issues where our charity isn’t good enough. Help us, to help them.
It might even improve there own employee satisfaction level.
Do we get to see the list of who got selected as delegates?
And the next shoe to fall on the Clinton deflector shields – a crisis of character
