Friday Morning, Meet Some of the Capitol Press Corps

Georgia House ChamberAs readers of GeorgiaPol.com know, there is a lot that goes on during the 40 day legislative session. And even when the session ends, the capitol stays busy, with activity in the executive branch, and legislative study committees that meet during the summer. Making sure that information about these activities reaches the public is the job of the Capitol press corps, which now consists of print, broadcast, and online media.

On Friday morning, several of the reporters who cover the Gold Dome will participate in a round table discussion sponsored by the Atlanta Press Club. Walter Jones of Morris News Service will facilitate “Georgia’s General Assembly Unplugged: Behind the Headlines with the State Capitol Press,” a discussion of what to expect during this session. Participants include Greg Bluestein with the AJC, Sandra Parrish with WSB Radio, Maggie Lee with Creative Loafing and the Macon Telegraph and Dave Williams with the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The breakfast event is open to the public. For more information or to RSVP, visit the Press Club website.
