Morning Reads for Tuesday, February 4
As of this writing, it is nearly midnight 7:00 AM in Atlanta, and on this night day in the Year of Our Lord 2020, we still do not know who prevailed in the Iowa caucuses.
Of special note: today is Day 11 of the 2020 Legislative session, and over in the House, we have voted to take the daily attendance more than we have voted on any actual legislation.
- The transcript of the 911 call made immediately after a Delta jet dumped fuel on an elementary school playground while preparing to make an emergency landing reveals chaos and terror.
- The latest on a legislative compromise for “surprise” medical bills.
- Faith leaders from across Georgia hope to influence policy and tone under the Gold Dome.
- Right whales, getting busy off the Georgia coast. Awwww yeah.
- Go SCAD! Rah Rah Rah! DEEEE-FENCE! Esports!
- A Cobb lawmaker hopes to build on the Handsfree Georgia law by adding steeper fines.
- No Georgia college and university students will travel to China anytime soon.
- Masks might look effective, but you are probably better off just washing your hands.

Iowa is trying to do Ranked Choice Voting without ballots. JUST DO THE BALLOTS!
Trump was the big winner following the Iowa dem caucus meltdown. That was on top of the 97 percent he pulled in the gop caucuses.
Biden is probably a winner despite his expected poor showing because the big story is and will be the disintegration of the caucus system, and his failings won’t get the notice they normally would.
On the flip side, Sanders is probably the big dem loser because he misses the boost of a win or near win.
On to New Hampshire.
“The problem with the caucuses is, I know it’s an age-old tradition, and people are very passionate about it, but it’s also very flawed — as you can see right now. Now you have — nobody has any idea of what happened last night. If they don’t clear it up in the next day or two, it won’t matter what happened in Iowa. It will all be focused on New Hampshire.
“There’s definitely a play there, but you’ve got to get the political parties to play ball.”
Says the Governor of Georgia where a Republican Presidential primary isn’t permitted.
It’s technically…. Go Bees!!!! BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ.

Meanwhile, as the Trotskyite party crumbles and demonstrates its abject incompetence for all the world to see in Iowa, Trump pops to his highest approval in the Gallup. Ho hummm.
End social security now!
I don’t really know anything about Trotskyism, but it is interesting:
“…Trotsky’s opposition to Stalinist totalitarianism, advocating political revolution, and arguing that socialism cannot sustain itself without democracy.[152]”

I got a comment, on a blog post. The post is about the Boulevard – Monroe Drive naming.
“North Boulevard was renamed Monroe Drive in 1937 to honor noted Landscape Architect W.L. Monroe who built his house and a plant nursery on the road and was noted for his many landscape projects and public parks in Atlanta”
