Democrat Adam Wynn Announces for 2020 GA-11 Race

Adam Wynn, a resident of Waleska, has announced that he is running as a Democrat in the 2020 GA-11 Congressional election. GA-11 is currently represented by Rep. Barry Loudermilk, a Republican.

Mr. Wynn’s announcement states that he “wants to be the first openly gay U.S. Representative from Georgia.” Mr. Wynn was previously a candidate for GA House Seat 23 in 2018.

Mr. Wynn shared the following:

“Last week was historic as the 116th Congress was sworn in. Our new Democratic majority in the House has many critical issues to address.

Unfortunately, Congress can’t “hit the ground running” on improving the lives of all Americans because Republicans in Congress and the White House are holding 800,000 federal workers, countless federal contractors, and many small businesses hostage over a border wall that almost nobody thinks will improve border security. The economic impact of this shutdown is far-reaching, but the Republicans don’t care. Fox News said we need the wall, so President Trump, Barry Loudermilk, and the rest of the Republicans accepted their obstructionist marching orders.

This is not how government is supposed to work. People are elected to govern. Disagreement and debate over important issues are healthy and to be expected. However, it is the responsibility of our elected officials to act like adults and find solutions that are in the best interests of the people they serve. We deserve better!I believe we need to change the atmosphere in Washington. I believe we need leaders who stand up for their core values but understand that you must compromise and collaborate to govern. It is for this reason that I announce my candidacy for U.S. Representative from Georgia’s 11th Congressional District. I believe the people of the 11th District deserve a Representative who looks out for their interests and doesn’t merely regurgitate right-wing talking points. I want to represent everyone, regardless of the color of your skin, where you were born, who you love, or how or if you pray. I want to promote a progressive set of solutions to the challenges our country faces.

This country faces serious problems that need to be addressed quickly. Climate change, skyrocketing healthcare costs, and increasing income inequality affect all Americans and American businesses. We need to find bipartisan solutions to these and other threats sooner rather than later.”
