The Summer Solstice just came and went about 10 minutes ago (6:07a EDT) and you know what that means: just a few more days of opinions from the US Supreme Court before the October 2017 sitting officially ends. There remain 14 argued cases with unannounced opinions, and some of thsoe are expected to come down this morning around 10:00am.
Among those outstanding is this one…
“Florida v. Georgia (argued January 8, 2018): This is a relatively rare “original jurisdiction” case – a lawsuit that begins in the Supreme Court, rather than coming to the justices as an appeal. It arises from a decades-long dispute between Florida and Georgia over Georgia’s use of water in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin, which begins in northeast Georgia and flows south into the Florida Panhandle, along the two states’ borders with Alabama. The Supreme Court appointed a special master to hold a trial in the case; last year the special master issued a report recommending that Florida’s request to limit Georgia’s water use be denied. Florida objected to his conclusions, and the justices heard oral argument in the case earlier this year.”

They took over the building in front of the factory on Waters Ave for a showroom. They also have a shop on Bryan Street in City Market around the corner from Vinnie Van Go-Go’s.
I went to the new place (where the old Crystal Beer Parlour was!) a few weeks back when I was home. Gotta admit. I wasn’t impressed. I liked the charm of the old place. And I loved that you could have a peek into the factory from the windows.
Doesnt mean I’m going to stop buying those addictive cookies though!

My friends here at the regional office are outraged. A large amount of their work is related to construction and site work for US Military bases and installation here and abroad. Any thing built in Iraq had to go through them, including private firm’s construction for site and logistical approval and then through whatever branch engineer divisions. You take it out of DOD hands, it becomes a secondary budget line that will become even more underfunded and it’s work eventually farmed out to private vender contractors, which is exactly what The Heritage wants. Tax payer money being handed over to large corporations saying they can do it for less (they can’t), preferably in a no bid contract. From a national security standpoint why would you hand over a 24/7 engineer service at your beck and call, with complete access to equipment from all 5 branches of the military.
FYI – The USACE office is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation.

I don’t think the analogy holds well, Noway, although I understand the effort. One is a choice made by the government exercising power over wholly living beings, the other is a choice made by the one with the rightful power to give life or not. Past that, we’ll also differ on the specifics. Like when life is recognized, and when women can exercise their power. But I also don’t have a typical stance on the issue.

Mike Flynn already turned state’s witness and pled guilty. Meadows is just making himself look like an idiot here. If he wants to spend millions of his own money trying to free Flynn from a likely jail sentence then he should go ahead and do it.
Remember Mueller has every text, every email everything from the Trump campaign. Caputo said Mueller knows more than the people who were actually on the campaign. So Meadows can shop his silly conspiracy theories all he wants to the dolts who will swallow them whole but it won’t change one thing.

I learned a new one today. Apparently using facts with Trumpers is “trolling”. It is desirable to live in a fantasy world of conspiracy theories and when you present facts and the truth you are “trolling”.
Do you believe it is a fact that Horowitz is investigating whether anti Trump bias in the FBI helped prompt the Russia investigation?
And if you do believe that fact, why do you suppose he would need to investigate that?

The interaction with the Australian ambassador happened before his investigation. I guess you’ve given up on your theories about the dossier starting the investigation and this is the new thing? Let me ask you this: if a campaign was conspiring with Russian intelligence agents do you think that no one should investigate it? That is what you are saying. You are saying the fact that the FBI got credible evidence of Trump conspiring with Russian intelligence they should not have investigated it because it would have been “anti-Trump”.

I asked a simple question. You were just defending the use of facts. It seems however, that you are only interested in facts if they suit your worldview. I am not sure that constitutes a belief in facts. That sounds to me more like a belief in propaganda.
Have you given up on the story of Hillary and the DNC starting the investigation because of the dossier? We heard that for months. Look at the powerpoint I linked to. There was a confluence of events between McCain meeting Steele, the dossier getting to Comey, Papadapolous telling the Austrialians the Trump campaign was colluding with Russians, Mike Flynn actually sitting at a table with Putin, and most recently Caputo and Stone lying to congress about meeting Russians in Miami. Apparently though the fact that they lied to congress made no difference to Mueller because he has the receipts.
The findings of Horowitz have been stated over and over again and yet you refuse to believe them. The so called bias had nothing to do with the Russian investigation is the point I’m making. The bias according to Horowitz actually hurt Hillary. There were agents who went out of their way to keep the Russian investigation under wraps. Seriously if the FBI wanted to take Trump down don’t you think they would have leaked everything they had before the election? Your claims don’t even pass the smell test.
Let me help here. So, I will assume Horowitz says he’ll investigate the genesis of the Russian probe. Good. There’s a 99% chance it will dismiss any allegations that it was political bias that prompted the probe (because there is plenty of hard evidence that the probe was justified.) But my concern is that there can never be any guaranty in life, so even if the report says 99% sure there was no bias, the Pres. will seize on the 1% to justify a deep state conspiracy, which will never go away, no matter how many probes, because the mere belief in that conspiracy is politically beneficial and necessary for the Pres.
So, if there is a 99% chance of such a conclusion, why is the I investigating it? Short answer: It’s his job. He is doing his job with justice and fairness, which is the crucible of an IG’s job. He should investigate any allegation of injustice. And he’s doing his job well by investigating allegations whether raised by Democrats or Republicans, Congress or the Pres. Only by investigating the allegation of injustice can he do his job and retain his job. And it is necessary to secure confidence in the institution of the FBI and ensure justice is being carried out – justly. But again, that 1% could be used to attack the FBI. But at least Horowitz will put the facts out there and do his best to clean up any mess and shore up confidence in the institution.
