Cong. Ferguson Inadvertently Honors Nazi “Heroes”
In a since-deleted tweet, Congressman Ferguson’s social media team screwed up royally. (And likely lost at least one team member).
Those are Nazi soldiers in Congressman @RepDrewFerguson's #DDay tweet. #GA03 https://t.co/fr8aU5M0OL pic.twitter.com/0ocnn97j66

What’s also an indictment on the good congressman’s office is that in five-and-a-half hours since the tweet was published, they haven’t managed to figure out how to design a new photo.
Oops.

Freudian slip.
We’ve always been at war with South Korea.
Those are the guys that bombed Pearl Harbor.

Did you hear that Canada burned down the white house?
I thought it was the Waffle House.
My guess is it was a millennial. Anyone over 50 would readily recognize the helmets as German, WWII being fodder for a multitude of motion pictures being made into the 1970’s, Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-in and Hogan’s Heroes on TV.
With you that some in GenX never fully engaged in the digital world, but I don’t get the cultural ignorance part. Now, if you’re saying that someone in GenX might say somethin like “I just don’t give a F*”, I might go along with it, but that’s counter-cultural not ignorant. Regardless of age, if the graphic isn’t replaced, it’s really more about the Congressman’s office not giving…
any importance to the meaning of their words.
