Rep. Buddy Carter Delivers “Better Way” GOP Weekly Address
Georgia’s first district congressman Buddy Carter delivered the weekly Republican Address on Saturday. While President Obama chose to speak on the nation’s Olympic athletes, Rep. Carter chose to speak about the House legislative agenda, known as “A Better Way.”
In prepared statements, Rep. Carter and Speaker Paul Ryan talked about Carter’s message:
“The message I continue to hear across Southeast Georgia remains the same—people are frustrated with a broken Washington, and I stand with them,” said Rep. Carter. “Georgians and Americans across the country deserve a better way, which is why I hosted events across the district this week to share our agenda and hear from the people I am proud to represent. Together, we will tackle our greatest challenges and get Washington back on track.”
“Voicing what you’re against isn’t enough—you have to back it up with what you’re for, and what you’ll do to fix our nation’s challenges,” said Speaker Ryan. “Buddy has done that by taking our ideas straight to his constituents in Georgia and hearing what they have to say in return. I’m looking forward to hearing about those conversations in his address this week, and continuing to work toward a better way for all Americans.”
The House Better Way agenda includes proposals dealing with poverty, national security, the economy, health care, tax reform, and the Constitution.
