Drew Ferguson Endorsed by Four Former Opponents in GA-3 Race

A press release received from Drew Ferguson’s campaign states that Ferguson has garnered the support of four former candidates he faced in the GA-3 GOP congressional primary on May 24. Ferguson garnered 26.77% of the votes in the seven man race and will face State Sen. Mike Crane (26.93%) in the July 26, 2016 primary runoff.

The release:

Former West Point Mayor and congressional candidate Drew Ferguson today welcomed four of the six candidates who he faced in the spirited 3rd District primary election last Tuesday to his campaign team today.

Chip Flanegan, Richard Mix, Sam Anders, and Rod Thomas all joined Drew as he prepares to face State Senator Mike Crane in a July 26 runoff and Democratic nominee, Angela Pendley, in November.

Drew plus these four former rivals accounted for more than 50% of the Republican votes cast in the primary election. Ferguson and Crane got slightly over 26% of the vote each.

“These are all honorable men who ran honorable campaigns,” Drew said. “They made me a better candidate and they all had ideas that I will take with me to Washington.”
