Morning Reads – April 1, 2016
Happy Friday! We’re rolling right through the year. I can’t believe it’s already April. I’m filling in today for Ginny, so here’s what you need to know for today:
National:
- We’re no strangers to the love…well, lack of it, for the GOP front-runner
- You know that Rule 40 and so do I
- A full commitment is what Bernie is thinking of
- Let’s be honest, the Libertarians wouldn’t get this from any other media guy
- I just want to tell you how I’m feeling about Microsoft adding BASH to Windows 10
- Gotta make you understand why it’s a big deal
Not National:
- The film industry in Georgia is never going to give up tax credits
- Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens will never let down the people who push for expanded open meetings
- In spite of a few legislators vowing to never run around and desert religious liberty legislation, top legislative leaders no veto session
- The Braves final Opening Day at the Ted is Monday. Bravos never going to make us cry? Eh……
- One business isn’t saying goodbye after Governor Deal’s #RFRA veto
- Larry Sabato is never going to tell a lie about the possibility of a Trump nomination and how it could hurt you, Georgia.

Guys,
Interesting as hell article about a political hacker who has helped steal/rig Latin elections overseas. He’s Colombian and has supposedly worked through a political consultant in Miami. It’s a long piece but well worth your time. And I thought WE were semi astute at the ways of the political world. Not so much, I’m afraid. Have any of you wonks ever heard of the Miami consultant mentioned in this article? Charlie?? I’ve emailed some of my Colombian buds to get their views and opinions.

$20k @ month – where can you get a lobbyist for only $20k month ?
Well, that’s a fortune in Colombia. Maybe that’s the going rate for high end hackers?
They could talk to India and hire a few contractors that are cheaper to kindly do the needful.
WOW, any surprise why Hillary has a trust issue with voters?
…Hillary Goes Off: ‘I’m So Sick’ of Bernie Campaign’s Lies…
……….The unidentified activist asked Clinton about money she has accepted from fossil-fuel companies, prompting the candidate to clarify: “I do not have that kind of money from people who work for fossil-fuel companies.” As the activist continued to press Clinton on the matter, the Democratic frontrunner became openly irritated, pointing at the woman and saying, “I am so sick. I am so sick of the Sanders campaign lying about me. I’m sick of it.”
But the activist was mostly correct. In July 2015, Clinton disclosed a list of lobbyists who were bundling contributions for her campaign. That included Scott Parven and Brian Pomper, lobbyists at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, who have been registered lobbyists for Chevron for nearly 10 years. Clinton has been insistent on her desire to regulate hydraulic-fracturing practices, but in March held a fundraiser with investors of the controversial practice. She did not sign a pledge that her Democratic opponents at the time—Sanders and Martin O’Malley—did while vowing not to accept donations from fossil-fuel companies………

Don’t be too hard on her. She’s just testy that she’s going to be indicted soon.
Some days, it really pays to be a habitual cursor-hoverer-er.
Nathan, maybe it’s just me but all of your links I click on bring up the Rick Astley video. April Fools, right?
I blame the gremlins.
So what’s worse, the Braves lineup or our presidential lineup?
At least the Braves can trade.
Truth
Totally.
Freddie Freeman for President! He would have to take a cut in pay but the bennies are great. An additional bonus is that it would leave the Braves eligible to play in AAA.
You #NeverTrump folks should know that a Deez Nuts candidacy does more damage to Clinton than Rick Perry.

The AJC reports 5000 single, workable food stampers in Hall, Gwinnett and Cobb may lose food stamps if they don’t get a job or job training. This policy should apply everywhere in Ga., not just in three counties.

I’m just waiting for some of our lib buddies to call you “heartless”, G…
Good start! Now let’s make it applicable to all 159 counties in GA, then all 3144 US counties across the country.
Well done, sir!
I always read straight through the MR before a click… I’m just going to assume links match the words.
Well played.
Here’s an article Sen Perdue needs to read. Sort of contradicts his whole argument

Note to Senator…you’re a big ‘market’ guy, then what does a negative short term interest rate say to you?
Rickrolling? Really?
Really.
