Excellent group of stories!
Wish I had time to comment today!
I do think we need to crack down on our immigration and visa policy. Our visa program via lack of screening and motioning has been a common thread tracing back to terrorist. We do have an issue with the integration of Muslim communities in the west. With that said the Muslim community represents about 1.4 billion people. The vast majority of Muslim people want nothing more than the rest of us a better future for our kids. We cannot win without working with the Muslim community, which calls for engagement not treating, the community like we are at war with all of them. The key to this fight is human intelligence, treating the vast majority of Muslims like criminals will not help!
FROM WP:
Ted Cruz’s harebrained, harmful policy towards American Muslims
…..Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz responded to Tuesday’s terrorist strikes by offering the campaign’s most destructive policy proposal since Donald Trump pledged to ban all Muslims from entering the United States. In an embarrassing race to the bottom, the Texas senator hatched an Orwellian plot to lay siege to American neighborhoods populated by worshipers of Islam. This harebrained scheme is every bit as harmful to the West’s fight against the Islamic State as Trump’s Muslim ban. Not only does the Cruz proposal send the worst signal to Muslims worldwide, but also it wipes away a natural advantage the United States has enjoyed over every other country since the Mayflower first set sail for the new world.
Today, Europe finds itself locked in a perpetual war against Islamic terrorists because Belgium, France and other European Union countries cannot integrate Muslim immigrants into their cultures. Add a disastrous open borders policy to the mix, and a refugee crisis that has rendered European leaders incapable of balancing rational security concerns with noble humanitarian instincts, and you have the makings of a crisis that David Ignatius calls the greatest threat ever faced by modern Europe.
If Americans want to inherit those problems, all they need to do is follow the Texas senator’s lead. But doing so would also be ignoring 240 years of American history……..

Just FYI…
6000 Muslims serve in US Military
900 Muslims are NYPD
Muslims are 2nd most educated group after Jews
Muslims make on avg 100,000/yr in the US
Hmmm, a small percentage of any peoples are bad, it gets really ugly when a lot of supposedly good people protect “their own”. Muslims can do a lot to help themselves by doing a lot more to stop the very bad that want to blow up non-believers. Outsiders nodding so sorry will not work.
Standing down police in scarey or riot torn neighborhoods and a lousy immigration program is destroying all America stands for.

Salty,
The question is how do we best get the needed help by the Muslim community?
Whatever policies we have are actually working very well. I have read that you are more likely to be crushed to death by unstable furniture than be killed by a terrorist. Crushed by furniture doesn’t make good TV though. But if we can find a reason to be scared of brown people then the odds don’t matter!
Really, B?! Ummmm, those injured by substandard furniture are not the victims of premeditated murder. That reply is beneath your standards.
The point is that it is easy to get carried away with the threat and before you know we’re not the country we want to be anymore.
Hillary will have real issue with Trump in the rust belt, the more blue collar workers understand her record. If Mich, Ohio….goes GOP a Dem cannot win.
Hillary To Raise Money At Home Of CEO Who Makes Solar Panels Using Prison Labor

Women have blue collar jobs too and they ain’t voting for Trump, rust belt or not.
xdog and Andrew,
Both of you are very naïve about this issue.
John, thank you for your Thursday condescension.
Why do you hate blue collar workers?
My family is almost all blue collar Wisconsin rust belt and farmers, with a 30/35/35 split of dem/no party/rep. The democrats are not moving to Trump. They are almost all pro-union, raised in a union house hold, or are retired on union pensions. The no parties are leaning towards Hilary if they HAVE to make a choice. To quote my cousin, “even if Hilary is a lying trader and is impeached, her VP would still be better then Trump.” The republicans… Well that’s a sad story. Wisconsin is the birthplace of the Republican Party. Many long term party members don’t want to see any of them in office. My mother, a life long republican told me she doesn’t even want to vote in the primary in two weeks. If Trump wins the Wisconsin primary, it will because the state has a open ballot, and the no party types will carry him over while the RINOs will stay home.
There’s the election in a nutshell. Anyone that thinks Trump can win in a general is beyond in a bubble…they dont have a grip on reality. When a portion of REPUBLICANS are trying to defeat him what on earth would make anyone think he can win. The question is how bad it will be for republicans down ballot. They will lose the Senate, and I’d guess lose about 22 seats in the house (Democrats would need 30 to flip)
The exit polls show Dems like Trump in Michigan, Ohio…..NAFTA is a dirty word in the rust belt….Trump got more votes than Hillary in Ohio…And won Michigan…When the slut shamming of Monica Lewinsky by Hillary becomes public that will hurt her…Combine that with being supported by private prison industry, prison labor companies, Wall Street deals, Hillary taking 6 figure speaking fees in trade for cheap visa foreign labor…..it will get ugly….Hillary could win, but she has a lot of explaining…..
You sound like a cheap campaign ad.
No, I am realist, I have been clear, early and often about my support for Kasich. As in business, I do not lie to myself about the facts.
If Kasich had a chance, he would carry the middle in the general in Wisconsin.
It doesn’t help that the state pension system he said would never be affected when he got rid of collective bargaining have be reduced at least twice since then. Not all state workers and teachers are democrats.

Andrew,
Henry Ford always paid his employees enough so they could afford the products they produce. This is basic concept taught in economics, it is concept based on proper distribution. If you have poor distribution ie wide gap between rich and poor, a demand problem will happen via lack of wages to buy things. Your philosophy of a race to the bottom with wages, and promoting slave labor conditions is not only morally wrong, but it will hurt an economy.
Henry Ford didn’t have to compete with China.
Not true, history repeats itself. At the time Adam Smith came up with “Wealth of Nations” the blue print of free economics, Smith was one of the leading abolitionist of his times. Free market economics concept was designed to fight slave labor.
As far as Henry Ford, it was him supporting the “Smith theory” of free economic verse communism and or fascism slave labor working conditions. It is all in your history books.
Andrew,
You obviously have never ran a business. Your example makes no logical sense. No way a phone would increase by 500% if you paid livable wages. Let me help you with basic math.
Hourly labor is a small percentage of the overall budget in a business. Obviously a 20 percent advantage can help swing market share. But you realize that is all we are talking about. Have you ever seen a P&L before? You really think hourly labor could be a 500% factor on product cost? HUH? LOL
Andrew,
I did read it, and it made no sense. Obviously, written by a person who never ran a business like you.
Toothless hick? Really? Keep showing your ass, Andrew.
Andrew,
…..When talking about South Carolinians, I think it’s safe to assume they have poor dental health and general air of hickiness….
Many of them would be smart enough to know, that a phone would not increase by 500% if you paid livable wages to hourly workers verse slave labor you support.
You have to admire the moral flexibility of Alabama governor Robert Bentley, that great defender of traditional marriage, as details of his personal “social experiment” come to light. Posting a Daily Mail link seems appropriate.

Maddow did a 20 min segment on it to start her show last night. Another hypocrite GOPer busted.
One day after a major terrorist attack in Brussels and Maddow does a 30 minute opening segment on a Republican governor’s affair. Maddow has weird priorities.
I think the attack had just about been covered by 9pm last night after hours of showing the same loops of people running from the scene.
Disney threatens boycott of GA if anti-gay legislation signed by gov – http://variety.com/2016/biz/news/disney-marvel-boycott-georgia-anti-gay-bill-1201737405/
EE says go – http://theresurgent.com/the-left-demands-georgia-bow-to-hollywood-values/
The real question now is whether Georgia can overcome the bad press we get no matter what the governor decides. Our legislature did the dirty deed by wasting an entire session to pass this discriminatory bill so as a state we are now on record just as Indiana was a couple years ago. Companies / industries looking for a state to do business will surely think twice about coming here even if Deal does the right thing by vetoing HB757. Foot meet bullet.
…and how much money have we spent to attract these studios with their “Hollywood Values”? If Deal signs this bill it might as well have been flushed down the toilet. At this point perception is reality. Nobody’s going to believe some white guy with a southern drawl standing up to say it doesn’t discriminate is telling the truth. I guess (if it gets signed) it will take people losing their jobs to grasp what stupid choices they made when they last voted. Even now these studios inject quite a bit of money into local economies that will evaporate if they leave. Sorry but most Georgians dont want to hang on your cross with you guys in favor of this bill.
I’m still maintaining that the bill’s compromise was the creation of an easily vetoed hot mess. Thus easing the reelection trail for the 98% or 99% of the legislators who choose to run again this year. Even though the only ones that it would really matter to this year are the ones being primaried, if then. Georgia can at least take comfort in the fact that North Carolina has not been happy with just shooting off their foot but has willingly stomped on a landmine. Also that no matter what we will always have Alabama to belittle.
Can I vent for a minute please?
Remember last year when the SoS released all of our personal information out into the wild? Well I did the responsible thing and put a freeze on my credit reporting. Now I need a small loan because I need a new roof so I need to unfreeze that. Well apparently the credit agencies mail you a PIN number that you have to have in order to thaw your report, and I don’t have it. After 3 days of effort I have been able to get it fixed but it wasn’t easy. Equifax in particular doesn’t even make a phone number available to call about this- but if you Google ‘Equifax phone numbers’ you can get one.
So that’s one thing.
Now it’s late March and time to renew business registrations. They (the SoS website) has a “One Click Registration” that hasn’t work during business hours recently (overloaded). And it ain’t one click anyway. So I called because I couldn’t get the website to work and they steered me through a workaround, and I get to my record and they say I still owe for last year, despite the fact that they charged my credit card last year. So she says I have to pay for last year, and the late fee, and this year, and then apply for a refund. Are you kidding me?
WTF is going on down there? It’s like a ship floundering on the shoals. You can hear the seams splitting and the the superstructure collapsing.
Whew. Thank you.
That had to be a real pain. Listening to Clark Howard advocating the freeze, I never once heard him mention the pin to unfreeze it. Thanks for the heads- up on that.
If you freeze your credit online they send the pin to you online. If you freeze by mail they send you the pin via mail.
I’m usually pretty diligent about keeping login/PIN-type information, but I couldn’t find any record of having received anything. Maybe went into junk folder. I’m sure I got it some way- just a heads-up though.
