6 million for our vets? Impressive! Thank you, Donald Trump!
I got jolted on last nights news when the media mentioned it was for wounded warriors (the discredited charity) did some internet searches (some said Trump had not contacted that charity)…,.dont know if his good intentions will work out or not.
Maybe the six million is going to his own “nonprofit” organization
It sort of is. The donations will go to his foundation and THEN will be donated. So he gets the tax benefits.
“Let me put this in language Donald Trump understands,” Jon Soltz, Iraq War veteran and chairman of VoteVets.org said in a statement. “You’re a loser. You’re a third-rate politician, who clearly doesn’t understand issues, and is so scared of Megyn Kelly exposing it, that you’re looking to use veterans to protect you from facing her questions.”
No doubt Soltz had an agenda.
His agenda probably has something to do with Trump’s disrespect to everyone who has served in the military when he said McCain wasn’t a war hero.
“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
It was only after he stepped in it with his McCain comments that his love for the veterans started. Ya’ll can keep explaining away everything that Trump says and I’ll continue to point out the fact he is a liar and charlatan
Soltz is a biased dem who has a history of making disparaging remarks about GOPers. If he doesn’t want the money, he does a disservice to the members of his organization.
From the parts I saw last night, the Trump event was a success for him and the vet organizations benefiting from the $6M+ that was raised. If Soltz and Paul Wycof don’t want the money, more for other groups.
From an appreciative vet – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cksa77CA2H8 – go to 29:40 in the video to watch John Wayne, a vet with many awards.
In other words he’s just a Dem hack. Thought so…
I still don’t disagree with what Soltz said about why Trump was hiding behind veterans so that he could skip Megan Kelly’s questions.
Stolz said, “…so scared of Megyn Kelly exposing it, that you’re looking to use veterans to protect you from facing her questions.” Trump and scared of a moderately competent news gal just don’t go together if you know anything about Trump. It’s easy to make that statement, but kind of difficult to back it up.
Whatever the reason for Trump not participating in the debate, he won the night. As a bonus, his absence allowed viewers to see Cruz stumble all over himself with his failed attempts at humor, whining and overall pompous attitude. In the end, Trump “the loser, third rate politician who doesn’t understand issues” had a much better night than Soltz, Wycof, Cruz, Kelly and all the rest of the candidates (with the possible exception of Jeb who had a decent debate finally).
So Solz’s outfit couldn’t use part of the 6 mil donated? Interesting…
Nice cut and paste, Eiger. Did you have your own point to make?
I think the quote speaks for it’s self. I can cut and paste quotes from other veterans groups about Trump if you like.
Debate highlights/lowlights.
Cruz. Slightly disappointing. Took too much time on Trumpet question, no coherent immigration plan, good answer on ethanol.
Rubio. Just ok. Too preachy, Christ reference sounded robotic, has a more comprehensive immigration plan than others, needs to be explain how he pays for military expansion.
Carson….
Jebby. Just ok. Did not appear desperate as in previous debates. Talked too much about his family. Lousy immigration policy. Wants more troops in Iraq?
Christie. Average. Good response on San Bernadino incident. Lousy response on spending cuts
Paul. May have improved a little. Did not scream or whine. Good answer on Syria. Inconsistent position on abortion.
Kasich. Touted his record. Nothing new.
Moderators should have asked more questions on spending, military funding, health care, taxes and ask fewer goofy questions.
Christie was trying to walk that fine line between profiling and suspicion. If you see a lot of visitors at all hours, a lot of package deliveries and residents are Muslims should you call pd? There was at least one San Bernadino neighbor that said she did not call because she did not want to racially profile.
Lakeside principal: when it comes out of white males mouth…..it must be completely sterile and 100% P.C. to the listener as the white male is a suspicious person.
Country boy is soon to be a euphemism too.
Someone needs to take the twitter away from Trump. Here’s his latest stupid retweet. I love the part that says “Google it!” Because every thing on the google machine is 100% true.
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/267437-saudi-prince-slams-trump-for-photoshopped-image
I don’t care about the Saudi Prince’s response. I think it’s laughable and sad at the same time that Trump is retweeting photoshopped pictures of Kelly to continue his acts on her.
* Should be attacks, but you get what I’m saying.
“acts” was more mentally stimulating, however.
Programming note. Still a few glitches here and there, the one that you all may notice most is that some comments are going randomly into moderation. Trying to isolate what’s going on there but it’s been a bit frustrating.
Point is: When your comment doesn’t immediately post, don’t take it personally and don’t start any conspiracy theories.
I take everything personally. How dare you sir?!
A déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.
If Huma and Hilly go to the Big House together, do you think Bill and Weiner make conjugal visits?
I’m still chuckling over your optimism of an indictment. Wouldn’t that have to come through AG Loretta Lynch ? Better chance of trumped up hate crimes on the Don. And if an agent slips her smoking gun out, they will be toast.
The last time Hillary was in the White House she left with a whole lot of articles and furniture…….depends on what you mean by gifts……and after a lot of controversy over the stuff from the White House, she returned some of it. As the years went on she got smarter, bolder, richer and more powerful as an amoral house of cards.
Yes, Bill to see Huma, Weiner gets stuck with the tag along chick.
Well, Salty, then I’m gonna make you positively giddy. 22 emails found on Hilly’s unclassified server were Top Secret. And a Grand Total of 1500 + “classified” emails on her unclassified server. “Shazam” says Hilly, “I didn’t know.” Poor thing. She’s toast. Pass the jelly. Indictment(s) is a certainty, even with Lynch at the helm. The various violations are too numerous not to indict.
Giddy Optimism and pessimism are emotions, I believe in odds making, so will stay with odds in her favor but hold faith that you are right.
So, we are to believe that over 1,500 classified emails were so sloppily sent to Hillary, that Hilly didn’t see/know/or realize any of said correspondence was classified when it hit her unsecured server? Not likely. On top of that, 22 TS emails ended up on that same unsecured server, too? No markings whatsoever? No inkling of its’ importance? No originating agency would be that negligent in sending its’ sensitive material. Seriously. Expecting a rational person to believe that explanation is nuts. This is Hill’s version of “it depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is.”
Again, we all, fans and non-fans alike, realize that she’s compromised national security information. The real question is what will the Justice Department do about it?
I wonder which one of us will eventually get to say “I told you so” to the other. And even if she’s just indicted, no way the Dem power brokers/donors continue to back her. And Biden will not just sit back, either, at that point. So, we sit back and wait…
You know, we both have fun busting each other’s a$$ about various issues, this being one of those. But the classified info that has been mishandled by her or anyone else isn’t by itself able to be blown out of proportion. That mishandling is serious as hell.
At some point, the former SecState must be forced to take responsibility for her activities. She chose to house an email server at home outside the normal protocols and security measures knowing full well highly sensitive materials would inevitably be stored or pass thru this private, unsecured server. It doesn’t matter how many, whether they were marked or anything else. She exposed critical data to the possibility of being hacked. For this alone she is disqualified for any future job requiring security approval.
Candidates cars- what they should drive.
Ted Cruz- (Aside from the too-obvious Chevy Cruze), the more appropriate and obnoxious Chevrolet SSR- a vehicle that makes no sense.
Jeb Bush- Chevrolet Suburban- Establishment power on wheels.
Marco Rubio- BMW 5 Series. Good looking, not quite whitebread America, but a little bit aggressive.
Ben Carson- Buick anything. What do they even have?
Rand Paul- Prius? Eccentric but responsible.
Kasich (what is his first name?)- Altima (who makes that?)
Chris Christie- Cadillac Escalade- Wiseguy power in your face.
Carly Fiorina- Jaguar XJ (long wheelbase)- because, why not. Capitalism has its rewards.
Donald Trump- The Rodney Dangerfield car from Caddyshack.
Hillary Clinton- Whatever the Secret Service is using these days.
Bernie Sanders- 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon. (Probably true.)
If something came to you from a secure email server/account, that would be a pretty good indication that it was sensitive. If it didn’t…
