Riggs Amico Statement on SCOGA Loss; 2018 Race Finally Over

The spirit of The Resistance(TM) continues to foment in the soul of Sarah Riggs Amico.

On Thursday, the erstwhile Lieutenant Governor candidate lost a Supreme Court of Georgia case challenging the result of her loss to Geoff Duncan. With the decision, it would appear the 2018 Georgia elections are over.

Riggs Amico is now running to challenge David Perdue and said Thursday’s decision will fuel her current candidacy. (And let’s be honest: the 2018 LG results were….head scratching).

In a statement sent late on Halloween, Riggs Amico said:

“Widespread voter suppression, vulnerable voting machines, and suspicious activity on the part of Republican officials will not quiet those of us who are determined to ensure that every eligible Georgian can cast their ballot in a secure, free, and fair election.

“This is one reason I’m running for U.S. Senate — to work at the federal level to expand voting rights and enhance election security, so that every eligible voter can be confident their voice is heard and their vote is counted.”
