Fitzgerald to Build Tallest Topiary in the World… and it is a Chicken
WSB-TV is reporting that Fitzgerald, Georgia is seeking to set a world record by building a 62-foot tall topiary chicken. The current tallest topiary structure is the 61 foot Sambal-Lei Sekpil. Guinness lists a 59’3″ licensed Mickey Mouse located in the Dubai Miracle Garden as the tallest supported topiary.
The original plan was just to top the 56 foot Giant KFC Chicken in Marietta by building a 58 foot chicken. However, the company building the topiary, Topiary Joe, informed the city that if they built it at 62 feet, they would have the World Record for largest topiary. The city quickly agreed to built it.
Oh, and it is going to cost $150,000.
