9th District Military Academy Appointees

Last week, 9th District Congressman Doug Collins held a reception in Gainesville to honor the following eleven students from the 9th District who were accepted to the U.S. military service academies.

Carter Mullikin from Gainesville was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy. Carter is a graduate of North Forsyth High School.

Jack Haller from Cumming was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy. Jack is a graduate of West Forsyth High School and U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School. His two older siblings both attended the US. Naval Academy, as did his parents, Richard and Julie Haller.

Hannah Ladd from Blue Ridge was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy. Hannah is a graduate of Fannin County High School.

Brendan Bowman from Young Harris was appointed to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Brendan is a graduate of Union County High School.

Mario Saponari from Elberton was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy. Mario is a graduate of Elbert County High School, and his brother, Gino, is currently a student at the U.S. Military Academy.

Jessica Carothers from Flowery Branch was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School. Jessica is a graduate of the Greater Atlanta Christian School, and her brother is currently a student at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Loretta Strickland from Blue Ridge was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy. Loretta is a graduate of Fannin County High School and the U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School.

Benjamin Nguyen from Flowery Branch was appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Benjamin is a graduate of Flowery Branch High School and spent one year studying at the University of Georgia.

Sawyer Williams from Lula was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy. Sawyer is a graduate of North Hall High School.

Cole Wright from Blairsville was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy. Cole is a graduate of Union County High School and the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School.

Connor Pierce from Dahlonega was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy Preparatory School. Conner is a graduate of Lumpkin County High School, and his brother is currently a student at the U.S. Naval Academy.
