Jimmy Carter Makes History Today

At midnight on March 22, 2019, GeorgiaPol.com’s all-time favorite U.S. President from Georgia became the oldest living former president.

Mr. Superlative President is now 94 years old and 174 days young. George H. W. Bush previously held the record. Here’s where things get weird: tomorrow President Carter may break his own record (but I haven’t checked the math on that).

In a statement to The AJC, the Carter Center said:

“We at the Carter Center sure are rooting for him and are grateful for his long life of service that has benefited millions of the world’s poorest people.”
