Kemp releases new campaign ad “Ahead”
Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp has released his first television advertisement of the general election – an ad the campaign titled “Ahead.”
The commercial touches on education, job creation, local control, and what Kemp refers to as “legal behavior.”
The Kemp campaign said in a press release Friday that the ad “highlights Kemp’s bold vision for our state’s future and his commitment to continued job growth and early learning initiatives. Kemp’s plan to put hardworking Georgians first will ensure a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future for everyone.”

“I’m Brian Kemp and I believe in Georgia. I believe our future is about growing jobs – not government. Investing in early, locally controlled education – not one size fits all.
“I believe in helping our most vulnerable but requiring work from those who can. And as always, rewarding legal – not illegal – behavior.
“I’m Brian Kemp. I believe Georgia’s best days are ahead and I’d be honored to have your vote.”
A commercial targeting Democrat Stacey Abrams was released earlier this month, but was paid for by the Republican Governor’s Association.

Maybe we could overlook if our elections were beyond reproach, but that has not been the case under Kemp’s watch. Too much scandal, too many questions, too obvious partisanship.
You know, it seems like he is trying to move past Hillbilly Brian with this ad but I think the damage has already been done. You see Kemp and you automatically think Dueling Banjos should be playing in the background.
Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.

I don’t see it as a matter of intelligence, but as priorities, and really, how we view our relationships to those we live amongst.
It does look like Kemp is trying to focus on different priorities, though- ones more appealing to suburbanites, and laying out a more moderated message on immigration (just so he won’t lose those who value deportation over jobs).
If he makes a commitment to secure universal pre-K education, I won’t even call him a socialist for it.
The ‘priority’ is betting that people will either forget his ridiculous primary campaign or weren’t paying attention. Which is probably a good bet.

But the cynicism is pretty pathetic. After trying to be the most outrageous primary candidate, now all the sudden he’s ‘Mr. Moderate’. But I think multiple commenters here predicted this , because we already know who he is.
Well, I never said the hillbilly schtick wouldn’t be embraced by a lot of Georgians just that the Hillbilly schtick has clung to him.

You don’t think the Trump endorsement is going to hurt him? It is not going to take a whole lot at this point to lessen Kemp’s chances. So far the race has been polling pretty close.

His long time associates are turning on Trump. It would seem that if the people who have known him for decades are turning on him, the rest of the GOP would get a clue.

Kemp’s fortune may pivot a lot on what happens in Trumpland in those days. But for Kemp to lose, there would have to be a massive shocker, with no time to recover.
So shorter Noway: Yesterday Trump was TGM. Today nobody cares that he’s been accused of running a criminal enterprise because said enterprise is out of NY. So if an indictment comes out of NY state for Trump it is not going to matter because it comes out of NY is apparently your thinking. Last week Trump was in the white house. Today he resides in NY and never was president. Okay. Totally illogical.
What I never got was why he was a great “Man”. If you wanted to call him a great “Pres.”, I’d say well at least you can argue about the greatness of his policies or politics. But to say he’s a great Man means you have to include all of his moral choices, his personal choices, his business choices. And just thinking about his moral choices shows he is unfaithful, deceitful, gluttonous, etc. I would wager, Noway, that your moral and professional choices stand well above his. So why not recognize that, and just call him a great politician or something? Because the rest of mankind – humankind- prefers not to let that man’s choices be a bearer of standards.

Have you noticed that the entire socialist agenda is nothing more than sticks and stones and name calling. No one is looking to the dems to help solve a problem or make American’s lives any easier. Something to keep in mind about Kemp is that he’s never won statewide office as a non-incumbent.
But he has won statewide office twice. Stacey’s never won statewide anything. She has no real statewide name ID. Ruh-roh…
I was going to say that maybe Stacey hasn’t won too many races… I don’t have anything against her. I just find it hard to believe that she will win by wanting to take away guns and sandblast Stone Mountain. Maybe tear down a few statues.

Lower taxes, lower regulations, a tax code that encourages hard work, lower cost energy and becoming the largest energy producer on earth, better trade deals, a border that is secure. Yes that is the conservative agenda.
