Trump’s military parade is due to legislation with McCain’s name on it. A decent human being would have shown a little gratitude and respect, but Trump isn’t decent, gratitude toward someone not fawning over him is alien, and despots and dictators are the only ones that gets his respect.

The story says the parade may be next year. 10 Nov is a Saturday when Trump is working hard for us on the golf course. Saturday is a day accommodating for protesters. And Trump could be pouting because of Tuesday election results. What good is a parade if the cult leader isn’t feeling it? My money is on it being next year.

I wonder if I (or anyone here) can find the crosstabs to see how many African-Americans were asked.
Rasmussen is pretty well known as a terrible polling company. I don’t think they ever show their crosstabs.
So naturally, the details of the poll are secret.
But they can be bought. It looks like the Washington Post at least got to see the details because they were able to comment on the sample size without divulging any trade secrets.
But why you shouldn’t trust that number:
The NAACP did its own polling about support for Trump among African Americans. And one has to assume they asked enough African-Americans. Released last week, it showed 21% support.

The rub is that the sample was contained within 61 competitive Congressional districts. I.e. not a representative sample at all, but still a useful one.

Mueller wanted to hold back information on the Manafort case to other cases. Manafort was Trump’s campaign manager. This charges being handled right now are in the Eastern District of VA and no where did the judge say this was about getting Trump? On Thursday evening, the election board of Randolph County, Georgia, met to discuss a startling proposal to eliminate three-fourths of the county’s polling places months before the November election. A rural, impoverished, and predominantly black county, Randolph has just nine polling locations, all of which were open during the May primaries and July runoffs. The election board may soon shut down seven of them, including one in a precinct where about 97 percent of voters are black. Its plan would compel residents, many of whom have no car or access to public transit, to travel as much as 30 miles round trip to reach the nearest polling place…
To understand the brazen attack on black suffrage now occurring in Randolph County, it’s important to remember that Georgia is in the midst of a seismic demographic shift. As whites cease to be the majority in more and more counties, Republicans have clung to power by disenfranchising minority voters. Kemp’s opposition to the Randolph County plan marks the first time that he has adopted an affirmatively pro-suffrage stance. During his nearly eight years as secretary of state, Kemp engaged in mass voter purges, removing hundreds of thousands of voters from the rolls. State officials appear to have singled out black voters in targeted purges.
Kemp also canceled or suspended 35,000 voter registrations using Exact Match, a version of Kris Kobach’s notorious Crosscheck program that compares registrants’ information with motor vehicle and Social Security databases. If a single letter, space, or hyphen did not match the database information, the voter application was rejected. Black voters were eight times more likely than whites to have their registrations halted due to Exact Match.
Kemp doesn’t need to continue shuttering polling places to disenfranchise minority voters in November.
Perhaps most egregiously, Kemp launched an investigation into Abrams’ efforts to register more minority voters despite no evidence of fraud. He used the probe to harass and intimidate voting rights advocates. Later, he refused to register 40,000 would-be voters who had signed up through the drive. Speaking to Republicans behind closed doors, Kemp explained the stakes: “Registering all these minority voters that are out there … if they can do that, they can win these elections.” ..,
It should come as no surprise, then, that Kemp seems to have played a major role in the Randolph County poll closures. At the meeting on Thursday night, the election board revealed that the move had been encouraged by Mike Malone, an associate of Kemp’s. Malone, who attended the meeting, explained that Kemp—who now claims that the poll closures are a bad idea—had asked him to go around the state and “recommend polling place closures” to various counties. Ten Georgia counties have already taken Malone’s suggestions and closed polling places. All of those counties have large black populations.”

The County’s population is 7,000, of which 20% are less than 18 years old, so there are probably only a few hundred votes cast per polling place in a general election. Randolph County and one or more neighboring counties should be consolidated into one County.

There is nothing about antifa in this article and frankly why would they want to do anything to people who were going to put Paul Manafort in jail? The only people that would be upset about Manafort going to jail would be Trumpers. I also think it’s telling that the allegation that the media is trying to dox the jurors is kind of buried in the middle of the article, and not even directly asserted. That’s because there are plenty of lawyers who know they couldn’t blatantly outright say that the media will be doxxing– because that would be called libel. But they sure do dance on that line.
All that said, if I were the judge, I would allow only limited questioning of the jurors, on conditions of anonymity, and no publication of their names and addresses. There is just too much politically-driven craziness out there and these folks should not bear one iota of risk for their public service.

The emergency call should be sent out to all of them that McGhan is cooperating with Mueller because he was afraid Trump was going to make him the fall guy for obstruction charges. I can’t claim to know who Bill Maher may or may not represent. But I would call him as much Libertarian as Dem.
I watched the show, and he repeatedly agreed that no private platform like Facebook or Twitter has any obligation to provide that platform to anybody else. (His analogy was that you could write something pornographic on a T-shirt but that doesn’t mean Baby Gap has to put it on their shelves.)
But Maher has consistently been a defender of free speech, no matter how offensive it is. Not consequence-free speech, but suggesting that allowing the offensive speech is better because it at least exposes it and allows opportunities for debate and rebuttal.
I personally agree with the position about not suppressing the speech. Even bigots can preach in the public square as long as they don’t advocate for violent crimes or cause clear and present danger.
And they can equally be ignored or shouted out in the public square.
As long as no one threatens or commits violence.
Maher was just arguing that it’s better to confront the speech than suppress it. Not that there was any automatic right on a private platform.
