Rep. Handel: Russia Must Be Held Accountable
Rep. Karen Handel (R, GA-6) took to Facebook this afternoon to share her thoughts on Russia’s involvement in the 2016 elections:
“As I have said before, Russia is not our friend; Russia is not an ally. Based on U.S. intelligence community findings, as well as the findings of the House Intelligence Committee, it is abundantly clear that Russia did indeed interfere with the 2016 elections. Russia’s actions to undermine our democratic process and divide Americans must not be tolerated, and they must be held accountable.”

The strongly worded letter. After that treasonous behavior by Trump today what are you gonna do Karen? Send out another tweet?
Oh my God, such baseless hysteria coming from the lefties! And Handel stepping into their tar baby is not such a good idea, since everything they are screeching about happened during Obama’s term, long before Trump went into office, late January 2017. Obama acknowledged in the summer of 2016 that he knew about what Russians were doing. It was Obama’s FBI and DOJ, along with his Secty of State Clinton, who should have been all over the situation at a time when it could have possibly affected the November 2016 elections. Now trying to make it somehow Trump’s fault is embarrassingly juvenile.
But the A/P article re US voting systems in Sunday’s AJC had it right:

Hillary spoke of Trump’s Russian problem many, many times. It was in the news before the election. The fact that you did not pay attention to this fact is not the fault of Obama or Hillary.
I totally get it. You’re just fine with Putin running the country because your agenda and the agenda of Putin are one and the same.
With all of this laughable hysteria from the lefties, you would think that Trump’s campaign funded a fictional dossier against his opponent prepared by Russian operatives.

The republicans NEVER funded Steele or the dossier. That is flat out incorrect.. They funded oppo research by Fusion gps BEFORE Christopher Steele was involved with Fusion. After Fusion contracted with Steele, the gop was long since gone. It was entirely a Clinton/DNC funded operation thereafter.
Steele was British. But he was not the source. He was the aggregator.The sources were Russian.
According to the fbi themselves, they have not been able to corroborate the major elements in the dossier. In my mind, that makes it fictional.
During the Republican primaries, a research firm called Fusion GPS was hired by The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative website, to unearth potentially damaging information about Mr. Trump. The Free Beacon — which was funded by a major donor supporting Mr. Trump’s rival for the party’s nomination, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida — told Fusion GPS to stop doing research on Mr. Trump in May 2016, as Mr. Trump was clinching the Republican nomination.
After Mr. Trump secured the nomination, Fusion GPS was hired on behalf of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign and the D.N.C. by their law firm, Perkins Coie, to compile research about Mr. Trump, his businesses and associates — including possible connections with Russia. It was at that point that Fusion GPS hired Mr. Steele, who has deep sourcing in Russia, to gather information.
The Republicans did hire Fusion GPS. Only until it became clear that Trump had a Russian problem did Fusion hire Steele who had contacts in Russia.
Actually it was originally paid for by The Washington Free Beacon. Might as well been funded by republicans
What does the dossier have to do with Friday’s and today’s indictments? The evidence presented in the indictments of the 12 Russians should have been reason enough for Trump to cancel the summit in protest. Rather than behaving in ways which would make us doubt his involvement in the influence operation, he’s behaving like a puppet. It’s a national embarrassment.
And Steele paid the Russians with money he got from Hillary. Thus , Hillary was in cahoots with Russians.
There is officially more evidence Hillary colluded with Russians than there is that Trump did.

Is there any doubt that Trump is a Russian asset? His treatment of long standing allies as compared to his treasonous behavior with Putin removes all doubt about his loyalty. I really hope Wikileaks gets ahold of whatever Putin has on him before he can fully sell us out. Congress will not act unless we elect clear democrat majorities to both houses in November.

I guess you know wikileaks is a Putin operation. Yes, the majority of republicans are treason weasels. You certainly cannot expect them to do anything but I also wonder if Putin has kompromat on some Republicans too. In the indictment last Friday there was a congressional candidate who actually reached out to the Putin operation to ask for kompromat. We don’t know who it is yet but it’s thought to be one of the congressional candidates in Florida.

“And that’s what’s happened. “Russia is ready to invest $50 billion in Iran’s oil and gas sectors,” Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, told the Financial Times (paywall) on Friday. “Military and technical co-operation with Russia is of major importance to Iran.”
It’s one of the biggest steps the two countries have taken to counter the threat of US sanctions. Before the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, there was little, if any, energy or economic co-operation between the two countries, according to the FT.
The investment decision was confirmed by a Russian official. And it follows from an earlier announcement Putin made on his visit to Tehran, signing an agreement to invest up to $30 billion (paywall) in Iran’s energy sector.
Velayati also told reporters that a Russian oil company (without naming it) has already signed a $4 billion deal. When details are made public, it will become the second such deal confirmed, following Russian oil company Zarubezhneft’s $740 million investment the Aban and West Paydar oilfields.
Trump is due to meet Putin on Monday (July 16) in Helsinki. He was expected to demand Putin to curb Iranian influence in Syria and threaten further sanctions if Russian companies continued doing business with Iran.
But it seems that, beyond energy investments, Russia and Iran are also co-operating more strongly on their presence in Syria. “Iranians and Russians will [continue to] stay in Syria to ensure terrorists can no longer be active in that country,” Velayati told reporters. “Iran’s presence in Syria has nothing to do with Israel.” ”

Nah, you’ve never seen or heard me use the term “deep state.” Corrupt bureaucrats? Yep, I’ve been sick of those for a long time — it is the 2nd and 3rd layer down that really runs our country’s government. They hand out all the lucrative contracts, promulgate rules in response to Congress’ laws that often don’t do what the legislation intended, hire and fire friends and relatives, etc. of pretty much whatever they want to do. They end up with high-paying jobs and lucrative retirement packages as early as 48 yrs old, then go make tons more money selling their government experience/knowledge paid for by the taxpayers.
Elected positions come and go at the voters’ whims, but the bureaucrats are not answerable to anyone. To prove it to yourself, just try getting anything done at the county, state or federal level down in the bowels of the bureaucracy.

Would you give us specific examples of this happening? There are 4 million federal bureaucrats plus the state and local government employees.
I myself was once a federal bureaucrat and am extremely familiar with how things work. I left before I got in my 20 years, due to a family move, so I won’t get the 80% of my salary for the rest of my life, nor the excellent government-paid health insurance coverage til I die. And stupid person I was, I withdrew the money I’d paid into the retirement system, or I would be able to draw a reduced amount for the rest of my life when I reach the magic age, which I believe is 62.
But I have many friends (must remain nameless) who have done the 20 and out routine, some of whom are in their 40’s and doing so now. Some are federal, some are state, some are local government, and some are in the University System. Any difference in pay between public and private sector for a similar job is more than made up for by job security not available in private sector, tons of vacation and paid leave time, great health and life coverage, less pressured environment, etc.

As much as I’ve droned on regarding President Trump’s denial of Russian election interference, crapping on our allies and trading partners, narcissism, etc., I’ve never figured him for being stupid. Certainly not a smart as he thinks he is but not entirely stupid. I really thought he would have been smart to have at least portrayed a tough stance with Putin just to throw off the hounds. Turns out he isn’t even that smart.
I didn’t think he would be tough but I didn’t think it would be quite this obvious either.
