5 USC 3346
(a) Except in the case of a vacancy caused by sickness, the person serving as an acting officer as described under section 3345 may serve in the office–
(1) for no longer than 210 days beginning on the date the vacancy occurs; or
(2) subject to subsection (b), once a first or second nomination for the office is submitted to the Senate, from the date of such nomination for the period that the nomination is pending in the Senate.
(b)(1) If the first nomination for the office is rejected by the Senate, withdrawn, or returned to the President by the Senate, the person may continue to serve as the acting officer for no more than 210 days after the date of such rejection, withdrawal, or return.
(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1), if a second nomination for the office is submitted to the Senate after the rejection, withdrawal, or return of the first nomination, the person serving as the acting officer may continue to serve–
(A) until the second nomination is confirmed; or
(B) for no more than 210 days after the second nomination is rejected, withdrawn, or returned.
(c) If a vacancy occurs during an adjournment of the Congress sine die, the 210-day period under subsection (a) shall begin on the date that the Senate first reconvenes.

I have used heat-shrink splice connectors for years. The splice is stronger than the wire, insulated better, and takes much less time than the NASA standard.

I happen to agree that the whole idea of abolishing ICE doesn’t make any sense from a policy or political perspective. You can either change the immigration law, or change enforcement priorities. Restructuring ICE back into another department won’t change either of those things. Because it’s all a reaction to the inhumanity of the enforcement priorities (we need to fully prosecute), the discussion should be on enforcement priorities (focus 1st on violent criminals, including MS13 (since they are often used as a political point of reference)). I.e. Why shouldn’t we eradicate MS13 before we eradicate the spirits of helpless children?
Yeah, it’s a matter of enforcement priorities.
And I understand that #abolishice is primarily rhetoric intended to capture the anger at the current admin’s enforcement priorities, I don’t think it helps politically. Swing voters won’t like it. Let me instead suggest #”WarmTheICE or #ICEontherocks or #ChillOutICE

If you are Catholic you are Catholic. Their is no little subsets. You are Catholic. You have religious orders which are part of a religious institute and independent communities, like Carmelites, Jesuits, etc.. You can have movements, like Catholic Tradionalists or the Catholic Worker Movement. But we don’t have sects Catholic is Catholic, unless you use it with a little ‘c’.
I would not say Gorsuch was Catholic. He apparently grew up Catholic but no longer attends Mass. Whether he officially got confirmed as an Episcopalian I don’t know.
