Sen. Bernie Sanders Endorses Stacey Abrams

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), a self-proclaimed democratic socialist and New Deal-era American progressive, has officially endorsed Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia:

“Stacey Abrams is the only candidate for governor of Georgia who has real solutions that will help the lives of working people in Georgia. She will make access to universal Pre-K a reality for Georgia’s children, raise the minimum wage, that currently at $5.15 an hour keeps families trapped in poverty, eliminate cash bail, and make sure people can participate in their government by introducing automatic voter registration. This is an agenda the working people of Georgia can stand proudly behind.”

Sen. Sanders joins the following endorsements provided by the Abrams campaign:

Congressman John Lewis, Congressman David Scott, Congressman Hank Johnson, Vernon Jordan, Rev. Dr. CT Vivian, Francys Johnson, and Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery have endorsed Stacey Abrams for governor. More than 200 Georgia state legislators, local electeds, and community leaders support Stacey Abrams for governor. Progressive organization Democracy for America, with over 30,000 members in Georgia and a million members nationwide, MoveOn, GiffordsPAC, Democracy for America, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Daily Kos, Mijente, Let America Vote, Higher Heights for America, Working Families Party, and EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics with more than five million members nationwide, Georgia Stonewall Democrats, Georgia Equality and Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates have also endorsed Abrams. The Georgia AFL-CIO, Georgia Association of Educators, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 613, The Georgia State Building and Construction Trades Council, Atlanta North Georgia Building Trades Council, the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 77, UNITE HERE Local 23, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 926, Workers United, Southern Region/SEIU, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union Southeast Council, AFSCME, and Care in Action.

Here here! I’m with Bernie on this. Would make the difference in a somewhat comfortable win and an absolute cakewalk for Cagle ( or Kemp or Hill)

Add him to the list of people that won’t be the next Democratic nominee for President that’re jumping on board the Abrams train, albeit incredibly late. (Harris, Booker, etc.)
