Hice to host tele-town hall meeting Thursday night
Georgia’s Congressman from the 10th district will be connecting with his constituents Thursday night.
Congressman Jody Hice plans to update listeners on the recent happenings in Congress and will field questions on a variety of topics. Hice is touting Thursday’s call as his fifth tele-town hall of 2017 and 11th since being sworn in. (For those of you playing at home, that’s an average of one call every three months.)

“With so much going on currently before Congress, fostering thoughtful discussion, where my constituents and I can talk about the issues of the day, is of the utmost importance,” said Congressman Hice. “That’s why I regularly host Telephone Town Halls, which are an effective, large-scale effort to stay in touch with my constituents as part of my communication outreach. I’ve sat in on a couple of Hice’s ‘communication outreaches’ and they’re about 10 percent requests for help with the VA or SSA and about 90 percent Jody bloviating in response to questions such as ‘What’s the best way to eliminate Obama’s continuing direction of the gay agenda’. Not once have I heard a question that challenges Hice’s vote or his stance on any issue. It’s an echo chamber. No more for me.
I suppose that kind of scripted process masquerading as thoughtful discussion is common among pols. I’d prefer he show up and face the music directly from his constituents like a few of his fellow reps but he’s too cautious, too weak, too damn ignorant to handle any crowd that does more than yell amen at his talking points.
