Rep. Buddy Carter – #GA1 – Calls for Full Repeal of Obamacare
From a press release from Rep. Buddy Carter (R, GA-1), a member of the Health Subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce Committee:
“The games have gone on for too long. While I am proud of the legislation we passed in the House to repeal and replace Obamacare, it’s clear it does not have the necessary votes in the Senate. We cannot afford to let Washington gridlock derail our efforts and fail the American people.
Today, I am calling for a vote on a blanket repeal of Obamacare. Majorities in the House and Senate have supported this measure in the past and it’s time to do it again with a president who supports our efforts. Then we can come together on reforms to health care to lower costs and restore choice and control to patients.”

Of course he does…
So, Buddy Carter is …
A. So ignorant that he has no idea what repeal will do ( likely)
B. He thinks his constituents are either too stupid to know what this will do
C. He thinks” Republican Tribalism” will alow him to screw his own constituents.
D. He is just evil and doesnt really care about the fact that he is supposed to act in the best interests of his district and isnt
E. All of the above or any combination of the above reasons
As you can see…none of those reasons are good, and really, there is no reason to do this…I’m sorta leaning a combo A/B
As one of his constituents I’m going with F. None of the above. Really; its not a single none of the items in your list.
With the shift in public opinion, and the fact that the repeal and replace has already been lost, it seems like a losing move to keep up the chant. I’m sure it matters less in solidly red districts, but if repeal fails (and the numbers suggest it will), it’s time to start modifying the mantra. Time to man up, say there needs to be reform (call it partial repeal if it saves face), and why that’s better. Voters will forgive the years of the mantra, especially if you educate. Dunno if that’s in the scope of Rep. Carter’s wheelhouse or not.
Repealing it without a net and voting for it before reading it are just two sides of the same coin. We desperately need another party or two in the mix (or in a perfect world, none at all). The two-party impasse has now become a siege upon the country’s citizens.
