Georgia Chief Justice Gets Summoned For Jury Duty

Jury duty happens to the best of us…even if you’re chief justice of Georgia’s highest court.  Chief Justice P. Harris Hines was summoned for jury duty in Cobb County this week.  He wasn’t upset about being called for jury duty either and took it with a matter of pride.  From The Daily Report:

He did send a note, shared by the high court’s public information officer, Jane Hansen.

“As citizens, each of us has a duty—and the privilege—to serve as jurors when called. I’m no different than anyone else,” Hines said in the note.

Chief Justice Hines has not been selected for a jury yet, but he has not been dismissed from his duty so far.

On a related note, our publisher Charlie Harper was also summoned for jury duty in Cobb County this week.  I have my suspicion on if the Chief Justice was summoned in order to keep an eye on him.
