State Senator Hunter Hill is considering a run for governor. Hill would be an interesting candidate. He is not a longtime politician nor is he a kid that has no life experience.

I think he’s wise to start looking for his next job. The gerrymander of District 6 enabled him to defeat Doug Stoner 52.87% to 47.13% in 2012, but his victory over Jaha Howard in 2016 slipped to 51.6-48.4. The district’s growth is occurring predominately in the blue-leaning areas of Cobb. It’s a good idea to start working on an exit strategy.
Hill has a life story that would appeal to Georgia voters. I like his position on taxes and state employee pension reform.
His problem would be money. Candidates such as Ralston and Cagle can raise a lot of campaign money quickly for a statewide run. I doubt Hill can do the same.

Interested in y’alls opinion on the traffic re- routing after I-85 fire tonight!
1) it’s gonna suck
2) it’s not going to be for as long as people would initially think
3) it will be the excuse du jour for everyone’s favorite ax to grind
4) even given 3, it probably will be a good catalyst to get an actual responsible conversation for MARTA rail expansion further into N Fulton AND into Gwinnett.
