Eight Candidates Qualify for Senate District 32

Qualifying closed today at 1:00 p.m. in the Senate District 32 race and eight candidates have qualified for the seat vacated by Judson Hill. Hill is currently running as a Republican in the crowded GA-6 race to replace Sec. Tom Price.

A total of five Republicans and three Democrats qualified. They include three physicians, two attorneys, and a first for me, a railroad conductor.

The election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, 2017, with in-person advance voting beginning on March 27, a scant four weeks away. The registration deadline for this special election (and GA-6) is March 20.

A list of the candidates, as provided by the Secretary of State’s Office, is below. While it means absolutely nothing, it is interesting the way the candidates are grouped by Party when the list is sorted alphabetically by first name.
